This was really well explained, thank you. I don't get why this video doesn't have more likes. It was so hard finding a good video that explained this clearly. Thank you again

One thing I noticed recently is that you shouldn't press on the pedal when you pedal backwards. You should simply rotate the crank as smoothly as possible. Otherwise you will go off balance once some of your weight gets on a pedal.

Great suggestion - spot on! Everything about the backpedal is about getting out of the way out the bike and letting it do its thing :)

Loving the tutorials! Such great breakdowns of the process and the steps to build up to these kind of skills. Thanks for taking the time to share with us all. ps: what are those gloves? I like the knuckle protection on them :).

Right on, hopefully this is helpful for you! So valuable in comps when you need a little extra space for a run-up!

Solid work and as always I find a few beautiful nuggets to work on. I can get a pedal stroke or even two, but think I struggle with staying far enough back, so after the first backward pedal revolution, my body weight is over the bars (I've moved the bike but not the bike and body). Really hoping the tip of staying back unlocks extending it a bit further.
@SuperRiderTV2 жыл бұрын
Right on, thanks! When it comes to extending this move and getting extra momentum, it’s a fine balance between being too forceful and maintaining control. You might try some bigger Endos to create more momentum for the rollback. That’s where I would likely start (or on a slight downhill) so you can isolate the backpedal technique without having to worry about the momentum portion.

I haven't practiced in a bit, but the thing that got me beyond two pedal strokes was learning to steer. Add that to what @Super Rider said and you'll easily get it. I'm not great by any means, but when I remember to stay back and steer early I can stay up until I run out of momentum. Of course I haven't tried it on a downhill yet, I should do that! Learning to exit with a half cab or pivot might be wise before I go too far though :D

what psi are you running for this type of riding? back tire looks pretty low when u hop up at :55, is it easier doing these types of drills with lower psi? thx a million
@SuperRiderTV2 жыл бұрын
I have a lower tire pressure in there (35 psi), but actually it would be easier to do this with higher air pressure. High air pressure would give you lower resistance when rolling - making the rollbacks that much easier.

hello...could you tell me if the relationship that I have in my dirt 32/12 is correct? or what would it be..good video as always
@SuperRiderTV2 жыл бұрын
That should work well for the backpedaling - but if it feels too fast/easy, switch it a gear or two heavier and it will help slow down the backpedal motion and give you more control

Fakie till you make it 😂. Worst part is I think that’s very accurate! Fakies is one of those things that you just need to do over and over until it clicks!

Now I want to get out there and work on fakie. I can do a few pedals but need to work on the exit with a half cab or pivot, as well as overall control and being consistent.

It takes a little practice - but once you’ve got it dialed, you’ll have it forever. Worth the time to lock it in!
