Actually, he was going to go to college to major in physics but skateboarding took him down a different path. So, it's not surprising he thinks so deeply into the physics of it all and I guess you'd have to to be able to invent as many tricks as he has.

@@_Maxten he fell from standing on his board wrong and ended up doing the splits and falling backwards essentially , this is rare but the doctor told him it happened one too many times and it basically took his hip out by the body responding wrong and fusing the joints just because he did it too many times , i mean we see how pros fall but back then there was no pros to refer too , this guy laid down the ground work for freeestyle and street , hes the godfather of all tricks and you really have to just imagine how long it took him to skate like we do today

And Tony's said on several occasions he's just enamored by Rodney. Like, some people definitely don't resonate with someone like Mullen, they might take his pontificating the wrong way, but Hawk is the perfect personality to recognize Mullen's genius and just let him do his thing.

That´s right. It´s HIM. He will never be forgotten in the world of skateboarding for the simple fact that he invented what is today´s skateboarding. He was able to freestyle and ollie with those old, weird looking boards, he is one of a kind.

Everyone who skated in the early 90's into the Plan B days understands who Rodney was back then and what he was doing. They may have laughed at some freestyle tricks, but seeing an impossible late flip variable at that time made me think Rodney was on a level no other human could touch.
