It indicates from the prehistoric era of humanity and for me that was cool. Seeing how this is a detective / crime investigation themed rider season, Dopants are an interesting metaphor for taking drugs. I assume that their very name, "Dopants", comes from the combination of the words 'mutant' and 'dopamin' which is a chemical that is produced in the body and causes a sensation of good feeling.

@@cooper3814 rather than the driver itself, I see the act of using the memories with driver as an act of taking drugs under supervised dose. It has been implied numerous times in the series that using the memories with driver, either the W driver, lost driver, accel driver, or even the museum people's driver, limits the power output of the memory itself. this, in return, makes the user able to prevent themseves from getting drunk on the memory's power. you see how the people who used to wear the belt when using the memory went bonkers real quickly once they started using it without the belt.

The KR wiki said Gene Dopant could manipulate Genetic code, yet in the Episode where he popped up I saw him turn a Bucket of Popcorn into Caltrops and a Pair of Theatre Doors into Slabs of Rock, so it seems like he was all around manipulating Molecules, performing Transmutation. Fang dopant would be batshit crazy for sure, but I'm not sure how would Xtreme dopant works. Maybe like Zone dopant in that it'd be better at working with other dopant since Xtreme's whole purpose is to bring other memory's power to a whole new level.
