I have an autoimune disorder that tries to make me feel so sick and one thing that helps to have a normal day is listening to classical rock and blues music. So I would guess that the departed musicians are encouraging me to hang on and try to have an enjoyable day..I can sometimes have goosebumps as I listen and I feel like I'm being healed if ony for a little while. Thanks guys for helping out. Until we meet again.
@DearMr.Fantasy Жыл бұрын
Proving forever Greg that music above all else is the universal language of healing. We are all suffering something perhaps large or small, but in the end music will carry that suffering away even for a little while. Like you I always turn back to classic rock to make things better- always have, always will. Much luck to you brother and keep listening.

I had the good fortune of seeing The Doors play live in 1967 and 1968. Robbie still has it and is the reason I am a guitar player today.

*I was also lucky!* I saw Robbie & Ray in a small club (Las Vegas casino, before their world tour); I got there early. I was standing feet away while Robbie played his iconic riffs. It was amazing what sounds he got from his Gibson SG & Fender Deluxe Amp. The singer was Ian Astbury from the Cure in 2002. It was a practice run of the setlist songs; I remembered when Ray stopped in the middle of "Touch Me. He complained about the intro and had them do it again.

As more and more years pass I've come to see Riders as their signature song, their most special one, one of those "gift to the world" songs. They might be recognized more for others like Light My Fire or Love Her Madly (or Break on Through or People are Strange for that matter), and rightfully so, but Riders is really the one The Doors were all about that sets them apart.

Seen Robby at the whisky a go go a few weeks ago watching an 80s David bowie tribute band. After obsessing about the doors with the history of the whisky a few weeks prior the chances of him being there that night just blew my mind! It sure was a cool experience seeing him there! I will never forget my Michigan to LA experience.

It's amazing seeing Robbie Krieger perform this song live because it's absolutely wonderful. His guitar work is incredibly awesome. Without his guitar work this song wouldn't have been possible. The recording company didn't think much of this song because someone made the comment it was cocktail music. But they were wrong because this song always stood out.

Thank you, Robby, for all the great songs by the Doors back when I was much younger. Lost Jim when i was 19. Ray when I was 50. Always remember how he stopped and paused when telling how he played keyboards and on what in several of the Doors songs in his book "light my fire". "Practice practice practice". God Bless you and your loved ones.
