This Ridge Racer V and SSX are what introduced me to electronic music. The music was baked into the UX. As you played the game the music interacted with you. It wasn’t just a soundtrack it was part of the experience. This game was more than racing, it was culture.

The progression as you move through the menus to car select is just so perfect

It is really cool that the background music changes to a more exciting and tense one as we move through the menu screen and get closer to the start of the race! Especially from 2:28 onward, it's really cool.

@@raymondgibbs5327 yeah i remember staying on that screen when I was little partially because I thought she was hot and also because I wanted to remember what pose went with what color I can’t remember if it’s random or not I haven’t played since I beat the max gp last year with the mercurio, which I think is hotter than the girl now (not to say she isn’t hot but my tastes have changed and also the mercurio is one fine looking car)
