I love this trail and ride it often. I’m not sure if it really is a red though. It’s as if a lot of the turns and features were designed to keep your speed in check. If you try to ride it too fast it just doesn’t make sense. None the less, it’s great for fitness. Have you ever tried cafe side?

I'm 11 and I did the first bit of this trail from the discovery (if you have been to halfon you know what I mean) around the first bit to the discovery again and it was so Fun I just got a full suspension about a month ago so nice Andy mum got a new hardball yesterday (she doesn't like full sus for some reason)

Thanks Mark, wasn't sure what to expect but did enjoy it. My only moan is that the best descents are quite early, then it's mostly climby/flat for the second half, always prefer it the other way around.

Knowing haldon, never. They've got two blue trails now, one of those will be upgraded to red, and the red trail will become a black. And then in another few years, they'll close what is currently the red, and so on. They're going for very family friendly, so they don't want anything "dangerous". They used to have a proper freeride area as the black run, and the current black run was just a part of the red. The black trail was shit anyway, and clearly designed by someone who had never even seen a bike, the berms were too tight to take at any speed, the rock garden had precisely zero sense to it, and the drop was immediately after a berm and going uphill. Worryingly, they've just added a few berms and a rockgarden to the end of the current red run, so yeah, that's definitely getting upgraded.
