Harder wouldn’t have translated to faster in this case. There was a lot of brake fade, harder would have just faded faster. Also the driver had issues with following the Toyota…not because they were fast, but because they kept FOLLOWING them. The Toyota was an absolute slob, their lines were awful and inputs were very reactive. Best case scenario, Ridge Racer here would have been stuck behind the Toyota lol

I think he made a little mistake (beside coming in too hot), when it started to understeer he added more steering angle but you should not turn the wheels more when there is not enough grip at given angle.

Go out to a mountain road in your area that you find fun to drive without a lot of houses nearby (a few spaced out doesn’t matter) and just start learning the road, by the time you’ve done 20 runs you should understand it quite well and then begin to apply racing theory to each time to you drive out there.

Oh dude, there are so many great touge roads near you. Wind River Rd north of Carson WA is the best touge I've ever driven. 3rd gear in a Miata, 2nd is basically everything else. Flawless pavement, good sight lines. Also in that area, the run from Klickitat to Glenwood is incredible, especially at night. Has this California canyon vibes. Oregon highways 53 and 47 out on the Coast range are also tremendous. Awesome cambered esses. Also highway 34 a little further south. It's a bit further from you, but Oregon highway 242 in the Cascades is Full Japan status with 1st-gear hairpins and literally runs through a lava field. The Cascades and Coast Range are a touge paradise and no one is talking about it. Everyone is focused on Cali.
@lguazuu27 күн бұрын
@@JETZcorpdo you know any spots further north?
@JETZcorp27 күн бұрын
@lguazuu I'm not super familiar farther North. I know highway 7 between Spanaway and Elbe is popular with the Seattle people. Highway 131 between Randle and Northwoods WOULD be absolutely biblical if they fixed all the sinkholes. It ties into Wind River Road as well. But it's currently near-undriveable in a sports car. Great fun in a truck, though.

Beginner here, not expecting an answer from anyone here but just wondering but do you think its a setup issue or a driver issue with the way it understeers into corners, in other words do you think a slightly more oversteery setup would help? Or if not do you think a different driver, perhaps a faster driver would benefit from a more oversteery setup (more front grip)? Would also be neat to someday get throttle, brake, clutch and steering inputs since I feel like aside from setup advantages good trail braking is usually what separates the quick drivers from the really quick drivers
