In this episode Dave Levy heads out to a big open public lake in the French Alps, in pursuit of some incredible wild carp 🎣
For Dave, this series is all about embracing the challenge-exploring wild and mostly unknown destinations, putting his skills to the test in these challenging venues.
In this episode you can expect breathtaking scenery, remarkable carp, and some truly impressive angling 😍
Although Dave's trip was cut short, he couldn't leave without achieving his goal. Determined, he returned a few months later. As the old saying goes, if at first you don't succeed... try again 💪

Great film and technical info, I do a lot of public water fishing in France , although the waters are free to fish you do need a Carte De Peche , a national card will cost £100 for a year . There are a few associations that require a local license , the good news is each area has its own public fishing association and these have excellent websites listing all waters and regulations , with maps showing where night fishing is allowed . My advice would be check the regulations and realise these are public waters , swimmers boats , windsurfing, float tubes , lure anglers will be around . So be ready for a little hassle . Finally the local associations are publicly funded and but the official are elected , as carp anglers we must respect the environment and the rules to maintain maximum access . Cassien saw a change from a carp friendly chairman to a Lure fisherman as chairmen and within a year night fishing was banned . Tight lines .

Hi I have holidayed in France a lot and fished mainly park lakes I do buy the local ticket from the local Tabc but have struggled to get a national card and I have not found any websites that easy to find one would you have any information that may help me ?

I know exactly where this water is. I was working near here & gave it a go for some tench or some smaller fish as i didnt have my own gear, caught some little sun fish but there were a few big spashes when i was on the water so doesnt surprise me theres big fish in here 👍

Hi Guys nicely done love the place what was the lake called and where can information be found on this lake and any others local lakes. I am on a road trip in May heading down that way and into Italy and taking rods of course I would love to get a line wet on the way.
