I like how the second chime sounds just like BIg Ben's lowest quarter bell.

You can tell this is older because the chimes have more chorus and vibrato in it.

I saved a 1986 Ridgeway 225 with a CC-1161-853-114CM movement. The original price was $299.99 but after six weeks at that price it is reduced to $1.00 of dollar Thursday. It is missing the three weights, key and winding knob. Other than that it looks OK. Can someone tell me the correct weight of the left, center, and right weights? First I want to insure it runs, if I apply a little down pressure on the center cable and swing the pendulum it will run until I release the down pressure. Weights are expensive and I want to be sure everything is running, time and chimes before I spring for the official weights. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks HH

It is gonna be different for each clock, but the manual for my specific clock says that there are two "light weights" at approx. 6 pounds 10 ounces, and a "heavy weight" at approx. 9 pounds 14 ounces, which has a 1.5 pound insert. the order is light light heavy, the two lights for the strike and time, and the heavy for the chimes. as for specific measurements i am unsure but i believe you can get the model number for the clock and movement and get ahold of ridgeway for the proper weight and dimensions. as for the key and winding key you can check the attached website for keys and winding keys specific to the clock and movement. www.clockworks.com/product/polished-clock-weight www.clockworks.com/product/clock-door-key www.clockworks.com/product/walnut-grandfather-clock-crank
