I have the rigid cooler. If you start with cold cans and bottles, and fill the cooler with ice I get ice retention for 2.5-3 days. Same as my old $60 igloo. If you put 10 lbs. of ice and 2 cans in a warm cooler the ice will last 12 hours. But I carry 8-10 rigid boxes and this is perfect for my system. And I didn’t have to skip a car payment to buy it.

I love my Ridgid pro boxes and can say they are super durable. I’m a little ADHD and have left the tailgate on my truck down way to many times to admit to and the boxes have survived every time they were checked from the back and the power tools inside were just the same as they went in.

The Ridgid Pro Storage is a sleeper yo. You are missing out if you aren’t considering their boxes. They are suuuuuper cheap, like 1/2 the price and they are the real deal… not like the rest of Rigid’s stuff 😉. I love mine. Handle fits under the tonneau. I have the big wheeled box and the small one on top and it lives in my truck. Check em out.

Ya you can get stacks for $99 on the right sale. Well worth it. I stopped buying packout until they bring their prices back down. Hooked my dad up with that ridgid rolling box in the video, a parts organizer, and a crate for $110 total. Packout crates being $50 is just a slap. Their new $250 cooler is a joke. Ridgid is far more reasonable.

@@notashton. No worries. Packout offers a lot more options. I only advocate for ridgid from a price standpoint but I wouldn't want to solely have ridgid. I have 4 packout stacks and many compact organizers. Ridgid doesn't offer nearly enough options. I bought my packout stacks for $200ea, my large packouts when they were only $60ea instead of $90, and my organizers when they were $35 instead of $50. Their current markups are absolutely egregious.

I got that ridgid rolling box with an organizer and crate for my dad for $110. Much more reasonable than recent packout prices. Bought my packouts back when they were $20-30 less per piece. I refuse to buy any more until they go back down. The red fanboys need to stop being so vocally loyal. They're only hurting their own wallets. $250 for the packout cooler is egregious. $50 for a crate is a joke. Ridgid is $25 for a crate. Both plastic. Be real.

I'm so heavily invested in packout it is hard to consider going another direction at this point. Rigid made a pretty Cool product😉 I like the size to insulation compromise that Rigid went for. Imo a job site cooler doesn't need to hold ice for days, just needs to keep your bevs cold for the day in hot weather. Looks like it will hold sufficient bevs with ice for a small crew of guys for the day. Thanks as always for showing us the goods VCG👍👍👍

Imagine if the cooler was left outdoors for the 48 hours test, the ice would have been melted probably in 24 hours depending on time of the year and considering how most guys would leave the coolers out in the back of their trucks.

it looks rotomolded (like Yeti). I left ice and drinks in one for five days outside with temps in the 90s and on day five it still had ice floating in the water. I'm not saying this *will* do that but coolers have come a long way. if Vince wants to send this cooler to me I'm road tripping from Seattle to Phoenix at the end of the month, and I'm happy to compare this with the cooler from last summer 😅

Yeti will but not most of brands in the market. and diffinitley not ridgid. I first was introduced to yeti 15 yrs ago going camp in some really rough weather you can't beat it most brands now just copy the design but not how they are build. Many brands are way cheaper but they don't delivery the same quality.

I had the cooler for about a month now and the ice retention is right around that 2 day mark they claim. If you have access to an ice machine and you can fill it to the top with ice like I have a few times you can get upto about 4 days out of your ice. It's a nice affordable option if you're interested in a cooler for your job boxes and already have the orange and black. 1 downside is that it does not have a drain plug you have to empty your melted water by pouring it out the top not super convenient there and would have paid a few extra bucks for an integrated drain plug. Trying to research and figure out how to possibly add one. It's not going to retain ice like a yeti but it's not going to cost you, a truck payment to put it on your job stack.

Seems ok to me. I bought a $50 cooler with wheels and it held ice for 4 plus days. And yes ice for over 4 days and cans were cold for almost 6 days 🤔

The cooler doesn't work well with the clips. The clips are loose and sloppy when engaged.

You should have started with unmelted ice 🤔 then by day two you would have had ice there.

First, thanks for the May 4th shout out. Who doesn't love at least a little nerd culture? Second, I'd almost be willing to bet you have more ice left over after 48 hours if there were more bottles and cans in there when the cooler was loaded. I suspect it works like a refrigerator. The more full it is, the less work the refrigerator (or in this case, the ice) has to do. In reality, in most cases super cold water that's no longer ice should be good enough after 48 hours.

@@VCGConstruction and the bottles or cans need to be cool as well when they are put in the cooler. That's a major determining factor. I'm sure yeti bottles or cans are almost frozen when they did their in house tests. And also cooled the inside first so it's already chill inside so the ice stays longer. Having a yeti is just like buying name brand clothing... You're buying a sticker or tag, not necessarily quality. And people will boast over and over about how great their yeti cooler is because they want to justify how da they were for buying an overpriced name brand cooler 🤣😂🤣

I suppose it kinda doesn't matter for a jobsite. The best cooler under the best conditions isn't keeping ice as long as advertised if the lid doesn't stay closed. Especially on a jobsite, that lid isn't staying closed. I've had pretty good luck with a 5 day holding meats and frozen stuff after a hurricane and no power (I'm in SoFL), but everyone in the house knew "open it, grab what you need quickly, close the lid and make sure it's sealed"
