Phil! While I've got you here before the video blows up, I reeeeeaaallly wish you'd talk about the situation happening in Sudan. There has been a series of protests starting the Thursday before Christmas. The protests were sparked by many issues in the country, mainly economical, but have since grown to become about the countless problems plaguing the country including Human rights issues, widespread corruption, and other humanitarian crises. The main goal of all the protests has been getting our Dictator Omar Al-Bashir to resign and building a completely new government. The protests have been *entirely* peaceful, which is unprecedented in all of the protests of the Arab spring and all of the other protests that have taken place all over the world, but nevertheless, the police have responded by firing tear gas directly into crowds and firing rubber bullets and even live ammunition at protestors, which is illegal under international law. Media coverage of the situation has been painfully lacklustre and sometimes inaccurate, which is very disappointing as nothing would help our efforts more than some international pressure. I think your show and platform would be instrumental to getting the word out there and nothing would make me happier than if you talked about it on your show. Thanks for reading.

Philly D and crew, I don't know if you've heard about the new Impaired Driving Laws in Canada but you should consider a segment on it. Passed legislation today allows for police to come to your home and breathalyze you up to 2 hours after you have been suspected of operating a motor vehicle under the infuence. The burden of proof is on you to show you were not, and you are assumed guilty until then. This includes anonymous phone calls to the police that you were seen driving under the influence. If alcohol is shown in your system (even if consumed AFTER you were driving) you will face full penalties of DUI. Context if you don't know. R. Kelly started dating his current girlfriend when she was 15. He was not only a grown adult, but an adult in her life who had power over her and her future career, he produced many of her songs, and even wrote music for her. Music he wrote, which had this 15 year old child singing about how "age is nothing but a number", and how she "wished she could be in a relationship with an older man as an underage girl" and numerous other super creepy songs hypersexualizing this 15 year old girl, specifically having to do with fetishizing the fact that she was a minor in a sexual relationship with an adult. Just let that sink in. Imagine being in a room with a child, and an older man who is her producer and song writer hands her a song to sing about endorsing paedophillia, and then you notice he starts creeping on her, and other underage girls in his life... Yeah, shit's fucked up.

Just to clarify the shortage in gasoline here in mexico is not affecting the whole country, it is focused primarily in about 3 states where it was know that the gasoline theft from criminal groups and the government corruption was the highest, therefore after hitting the ''huachicoleros'' (the gasoline thieves criminal or ''legal'') by taking the oil refineries with the military and securing the pipelines, many gasoline stations that bought most of their fuel from these thieves (stolen gasoline delivered by the PEMEX company itself, funny) ran out of fuel, in addition to that the panic purchases along with the change on the delivery system from pipes to trucks, affected the overall supply of gasoline, ending it the situation we face right now, but again, only after AMLO took action the faced this problem a problem well known by past ministrations that were clearly involve in covering this massive criminal chain. Many contracts have been terminated from about 100+ gasoline stations for selling this stolen fuel and an investigation for corruption in PEMEX and the past administrations as well as syndicate leaders is underway.
@MyMusicSosa5 жыл бұрын
To add to this, a big part of the problem are the panick purchases people are making, right wing media keeps saying gas will run out and generally fear mongering, this has caused an increase in the demand for gas than there'd usually be. Most people understand however that this is a necessary measure to cut violence, theft and corruption. This huachicoleros or gas theives are also known to be involved in other illegal affairs and thus the shortage is generally helping a lot with solving crime, increased police and military precence have also helped improve mexican security greatly in this "gas crisis"

Truck drives have reported exhaustion because the average waiting time was 29hrs to get gas from destileries. Even the prices of plastic containers had been raised 400%... We are getting everyday closer to a madmax scenario. The people says that the gas stations were buying stolen gas from thiefs (we call them huachicoleros) and that's another reason why, now that the pipes are closed, they are running out of fuel... This topic is very extensive and we could talk about it for hours...

I believe the shortage is going to last more than that actually. The government has been changing the supposed day when the fuel shortage is going to end. Guadalajara its only an example of how bad things are getting, but the main problem lies within the minor cities in some other states (for example Michoacan, which is a mayor agricultural state), causing the prices of many basic supplies to rise. Many people are focusing only in how the people are rushing to buy gasoline for personal use, but i believe the problem goes far from there. As a Mexican, i can only hope that this problem is solved as quickly as posible, and hope we can help to fix it as soon as we can.

Good to see people being more outspoken on Kelly. Also, this isn't excusing Kelly at all, his brother came out on an interview speaking about how himself and R Kelly were molested as kids by their older sister. TheNattyProfessor I believe that was discussed in the first episode of the docuseries. Sexual assault, especially with children, is just so wrong. Lots of assaults victims don’t go to assault others and only a really small percent of assaulters were victims. the only possible light it would shed on if Kelly got revenge on the person who assaulted him. It doesn’t explains his actions, reasons nor motives nothing I know you said not to excuse his action but like saying shit like no offense but.... doesn’t change the things gonna follow will not be offensive apply it to this. People seem to only care about past assaults when it’s to shed lights on assaulters assaulting to feel bad for them which takes away from the harm they’ve done and or are doing to others.

Most gas stations have shut down and the ones that haven't have generated unbelievable amounts of traffic, trips that should be 15-20 minuets long, turn into 1 hour trips due to the traffic generated by the huge lines to get gas, people have resorted to bring actual water tanks to gas stations and have filled them up, people are panicking. People who do not support the president are extremely mad, people who do are trying to defend him and the strategy. I must say i do not support him at all, but I do have faith the strategy will generate something positive and am not worried about the shortage given that I do not think the president would allow the country to crash and burn in his first month in office. It has been interesting though, many people keep repeating that we are Venezuela now, which is ridiculous. My mom, who is extremely misinformed, is even buying can goods and has threatened to send me and my sister to the US hahahah It is quite a mess, but it is an interesting situation that could really steer this residency in the right track, for once, or just derail it. Mexican viewer here. In Mexico City, most of the shortage is caused not by a reduction in the amount of available gasoline but by the panic created by social media prompting people to fill more gasoline than usual all at once. Say 40 people a day visited a gas station, the gas station ordered enough gasoline to satisfy that demand but not much more; now, because they are scared it's going to run out, 120 people will go to fill their tanks making huge lines on gas stations prompting traffic and an increase in the people who are paranoid the gasoline is going to run out prompting gas stations to limit the amount people can buy at once. Another big factor in the lack of gasoline outside of the capital is the fact that for years gas stations asked PEMEX for less gasoline than the amount they actually needed so they could buy the rest from the huachicoleros (name given to the people who steal and commercialize the gasoline) at a cheaper price and make more money (it's between 25% and 70% cheaper). With the crackdown, not being able to buy this stolen gasoline, gas stations ran out quickly and a restructuring of the distribution plans is needed to meet the actual demand of gasoline around the country.

I think that a lot of the problem comes just because of people’s paranoia. There IS enough gas for everyone, it just takes a lot longer to get to us but people are not seeing that so they just buy a shit load of gas for themselves and leaving the rest of the people without it, thus, making prices higher in the places where there is gas. If we stopped treating this as an apocalypse and learning to rationalize gas the problem would be a lot smaller.

You can really tell that some adults were abused as children when they think sharing videos of domestic violence and child abuse is just a funny prank. To them, that's normal, and no, they don't understand why others think it's awful. They don't know any different. They don't know what it's like to live in an environment free of violence. It's really honestly sad, but at the same time absolutely rage inducing because as adults, you should be able to use critical thinking skills, and even sympathy and empathy, to discern what sorts of behaviors are damaging vs nurturing. But so many simply can't figure that out. And then they lash out in defense when told "What you're doing is actually not okay."

As a Mexican living in the border, I loved you touching on the gasoline "crisis" that's happening right now in Mexico. You have politicians, many from the political party which was in power the last 6 years, criticizing the current President for "acting without a strategy" or "being too abrupt", and that's where the people of Mexico are finding the patience to somewhat deal with this; how can these politicians be so cynical as to criticize what's going on when they themselves never did anything about it.

I live in Mexico, THANK YOU for covering this story from Mexico! I'm personally not an AMLO fan. I believe his views and strategies will not help bring progress and economic stability to the country. His party, Morena, has taken over the polls around the country because of the general discontent and disgust the people have for the past government, which was ridden with blatant corruption. My views on his political stance, I really hope his plan works though, to be honest, corruption is so deeply rooted within authorities, politicians, the police and armed forces, I find it to be very unlikely that the trucks being accompanied by the army will help. It's not unheard of to have the military personnel be bought by the various cartels, particularly the 'Zetas' and 'Cartel del Norte' who are specially violent. My city in the State of Baja California in particular has not had much problems with our supply of gasoline so far, but it's affecting some of the biggest and most important cities in the country, and thus affecting the already struggling economy.

The crisis of gasoline is very serious at this time, people are getting desperate and starting to buy as much gasoline as they can so they can sell it at a bigger cost. A good number of Mexicans fear for AMLOS safety. In a personal opinion what AMLO wants is to become a nation hero. AMLO founded a political party called "MORENA" in 2011 and today it is one of the biggest political parties in Mexico in just a couple of years! I believe that if he shows the nation a big change in Mexican politics his party will be the most influential in years to come. Hope this information helps the Philly D nation!

Its almost like you're supporting the base music in general, but that doesn't mean you support the person who's name is on it. Think of the producer of the beat/instrumental, the featured artists, the ones that don't get credit when a song is put out let alone a full blown music video:the cameraman, the editor, e.t.c. I rambled but yeah, its along the same lines why I enjoy some music by the likes of Lil Pump, 6ix9ine, xxxtentacion, R. From Guanajuato Mexico here. The gas crisis is really bad. Lots of people are very angry at AMLO. Very few people have not been affected directly in some way. My brother lives in Germany, he came to visit and went to a nearby city in a car. The gas crisis hit and he found himself without enough gas to return. He had to wait in line for 6 hours TWICE (the first time they ran out before he got to the front of the line) before he finally had enough gas to get back. Thankfully he did eventually manage to return and will make his plane to Germany on time. There is one upside to all this: The city of Guanajuato has always had awful, awful traffic problems. It is nice to see the streets without all the gridlocked honking cars for once. My own two cents: Rises in gas prices, general economic drain, and problems with organized crime are very serious issues in Mexico. If this is one month of chaos in exchange for significant improvements in the long term, then it is worth it. The catch is that IT IS ONLY WORTH IT IF IT WORKS, and I am not at all convinced that it will work. Also, as everyone else has pointed out, we did not get proper advance notice to prepare for this. The jury is still out on whether this was the right thing to do, but it definitely was NOT the right way to do it.
