Just to vouch for how these tracks play, from a competitive perspective a lot of these tracks play pretty well and are honestly more balanced than many Nintendo tracks, since they are designed with the game's meta in mind. The big pack spread on tracks like Royal Rainbow more comes from the track knowledge gap in these rooms, and the fact that a lot of the cuts on these tracks are pretty technical

I know the guy who made Northern Heights. It's actually his last custom track, which makes it all that much cooler that it got into CTGP. He is a cool and funny guy, and really stretched the limits with how certain things work in MKW custom tracks.

Hey Troy! I have an idea for showing Nick’s POV and yours at the same time! While editing, right before Nick screams whether something cool or bad happens to him, you could show a small screen of his POV. Then afterwards it goes away so as viewers, we know that whenever we see his screen for that short period of time, we should look because something interesting is about to happen. At the same time it doesn’t take away from ur POV since his screen goes away after his “moment” is done. Plus I’m sure those boosts of small clips throughout the video would increase the attention span of the video.

You should do a "Gun Game" of sorts with NMeade or Mayro or any guest! Where you both start with 100% chance of pulling a really powerful item (eg shock or bullet bill), and whoever wins race between the two moves onto the next item down (so guaranteed star for example), then down again (mega/golden) until they get all the way down to Fake Item Box/Blooper, and whoever wins first (between the two players) with the worst items wins the game! Additional term, more optional: Placing last in any given race means you get setback one item, and placing first means you move TWO items down, to incentivise targeting players outside of your rival :) I think that'd be really fun to watch, but it could be messy in terms of modding the game like that (Yes im going to suggest this on every video until it either happens or we're told that it's not happening ♡)

Most of these tracks were very long and complex, with little to no off-road. It’s like the opposite of the Nintendo tracks

Assuming everyone is on equal skill levels, it makes for some incredibly boring races since the lack of items means positions stagnate and winners are practically pre-determined by the latter half of lap 1 because everyone already knows the fastest route and nobody, especially those in front, are going to make mistakes big enough to make a difference.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care for the MK8 versions of retro tracks most of the time? Like the N64 Rainbow Road is so iconic and the MK8 version is just meh. Same with most others, they just are changed soo much they don't even remind me of the original track. Always liked how Wii handled doing retro tracks best out all all the MKs.
