The Chiba Urban Monorail is a suspension monorail that runs through Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. There are two lines, Line 1 (3.2km) between Chiba Minato Station and Kencho-mae Station, and Line 2 (12.0km) between Chiba Station and Chijodai Station, operated by the third sector Chiba Urban Monorail. Its common name is Chiba Monorail, and its nickname is Town Liner.
The Chiba Monorail was extended to 13.5 km in August 1995 (between Chiba and Chiba Minato), surpassing the monorail in Wuppertal, Germany (13.3 km) to become the world's longest operating suspended monorail. On June 27, 2001, it was certified by Guinness World Records as the world's longest operating suspension monorail (15.2 km).

千葉市内では重要かつ高速移動をするには必要不可欠のモノレールでよく使ってます！！ あと1日乗車券は意外と提携するお店も多いので孤独のグルメみたいな感じで回るときには持ってテソンはないですよ！

It is like in Germany-Wuppertal (train is called "Schwebebahn", which means hovering train) and it has been in operation since 1887👍

Foarte frumos monorail-ul. Ştiu că în ţara ta nu este o noutate acest mijloc de transport, aşa cum nouă ni se pare. Am mai văzut alte videoclipuri cu un asemenea monorail tot la voi, in Japonia, nu mai reţin numele oraşului. Ce nu mi-a convenit, mie ca persoană, era că traseul acelui mijloc de transport era exact peste strazile din cartier. Nu mi-ar conveni ca locuind acolo, să văd deasupra capului, cum ies din curtea casei, circulând aceste "miriapode" deasupra mea. Dar asta este o părere personală. Iţi multumesc, dragă ITSUKA pentru acest videoclip şi aştept cu nerăbdare să aşterni aici şi alte călătorii ale tale. Apropo, subtitrarea în limba româna a videoclipului este ireproşabila! Fiquei impressionado com o valor da passagem, pois convertendo para a moeda brasileira, sai por R$26,46. O monotrilho de São Paulo o ticket, passagem, é de R$4,40 e tem um dos sistemas com a maior capacidade de transporte no mundo, com 7 carros. Em Chiba são apenas 2 carros. Outro ponto extremamente curioso é a utilização de desenhos com cigarros. Aqui isso seria inaceitável e até proibido por lei. Pude entender neste vídeo, que em locais que nevam, é mais apropriado este sistema invertido de monotrilho, evitando-se assim possíveis paralisações com o acúmulo de gelo nos trilhos.

It's a bit of a tourist attraction, innit 😀 It's fine of course, it definitely looks much cooler than a "normal" monorail, the one in Naha for example.

@@towada1066 No I mean it could be a normal train, or an upright monorail. I'm not condemning it or anything, but I do recognise when something looks more fancy than it needs to be. So, it's awesome, but also unnecessary 😉

@@thany3 The concern was keeping the rail line as clean as possible (unlike Yurikamome line in Tokyo) so Chiba kind of copied the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn design. Since the line is covered it costs less to maintain. The only downside is that the cars tend to sway a bit.
