Hi Joe. I was a few cars back on this same trip. I've documented the whole trip.

Hey Joe! This is John, the engineer on the North Ave. swtich job #68. How are you? Where was this video taken? What Ford plant? I am retired now and living in San Diego. Wish I was still working Job 68, though...long story.

Ah yes! How has your retirement been? SD is awesome! And 68 is great, although they no longer switch Morton Salt. Anyways This is actually A GM plan in Janesville WI not Ford. This was shot crossing Jackson street as well as Industrial Ave just south of the Rock river.

I thought that GM was going to close Janesville? Is it still operating? My retirement sucks.....I have to send my ex wife $3,000 per month so I have to drive an Uber car to make ends meet and I'm working more now than I was when I was working! Shit! What is your real name, anyway? I forgot it. I don't think it's Joe, is it? You must be in college now. Last time I saw you was about 3 years ago and you were a sophomore in high school then, I think. If you still have that video of the time we took you on a ride out to the bakery, go ahead and post it on your KZbin channel. I'm no longer working at the UPRR so it won't matter one bit.

I did some research and It looks like the plant closed in 2008 or 2009. And wow that's awful, hopefully that wont last much longer. What about working on a short line out there? My real name is Andrew, and I'm going to be a junior at Illinois State this fall. And cool thanks!

I thought your name was Andrew! That's my 14 year old son's name. I can't go back to work for a RR because I'm collecting my Railroad Retirement annuity. If I went back to RRing, my annuity stops. If you post any video from your ride out to the bakery, let me know. I can't remember if you were videoing our trip to the bakery or not. But I know I asked you not to post it while I was still working for the UPRR because it could have gotten me in hot water. I know guys who were working for the RR and were videoed doing things that were against the rules and got in trouble for it! Like getting off of an engine the wrong way! It's crazy but true. Happened to an Illinois Div. engineer, Harry Lewis, who was videoed getting off an engine the wrong way, some company official saw it, and wrote him up!

Oh yah I forgot about that. And Ill definitely let you know when Its posted. Its not great footage, but I still got some cool shots. Wow I guess you can never be to careful with the RR,
