Let’s talk extreme adventures. Mauritania’s iron ore train is not only one of the longest trains in the world but also one of the most dangerous.
The train journey covers 704km each way travelling from the port of Nouadhibou to the mining town of Zouerat in the middle of the desert.
And I rode it both ways.
Firstly, in this video I want to tell the story of the train. I initially thought it would be a video showcasing extreme adventure and travel. But in fact, it turned out to be something completely different and a story of Mauritanian hospitality and learning about a whole new culture.
I want to be sure specially to give credit to these guys, the locals who ride this train, not because they want to - but because they have to. This is a way of life and a means of transport to and from work in the desert in these harsh conditions.
Here is MY story and all your questions answered about the iron ore train in Mauritania.
Thanks for watching! :)
