Before the island in the waters south of Singapore was known as Sentosa, it was once a British military fort. After the Japanese Occupation in World War II, Singapore returned under British rule, and the island changed its name, to "Sentosa", which in Malay means "peace and tranquility". Throughout its history, Sentosa has turned into a beloved island resort, known for its tropical beaches, luxury hotels and splashy attractions. Sentosa will captivate and delight you, whether you want to get your adrenaline pumping or relax while bathing in the sunshine.
