5:12 Trekkers’ Information Management Systems (TIMS), is a mandatory universal permit that you need if you travel in any trekking route. After purchase, whenever you see a TIMS checkpost, show your permit so they know where to find you incase if any trouble and you go missing. I think they cover basic rescue fees when there is a national disaster, snow etc when you stuck for more than few days. And then the mustang permit is the extra permit just to enter Mustang only. Always get your permits from Pokhara or kathmandu because it is half price there. In routes, it will cost you double.
