What a cute train! I am still amazed at the variety of trains and the effort all the staff does to maintain them and give quality service. Honestly I would say from the many vids I’ve watched of trains over the years, they are the best. I plan to visit Japan a year from now. And I’m looking forward to riding a few of these beauties to new destinations 😃

A "Hello Kitty" themed Shinkansen? This is amazing. Something like that would be unthinkable here in Germany with our boring trains. We're happy when the trains are fairly on time or even come at all. When it comes to our rail system we are living in the "mobile Stone Age". 😢

There's no comparison between Japan and American trains. Our rail system in the U.S. is garbage, and it has been overtaken by crime. I hope one day we'll get to this point! I'd much rather take a train over a plane.

Garbage when it comes to passenger rail but superior when it comes to freight.
@emilyf9725
@emilyf9725 20 күн бұрын
@@xanthrax6179the reasons why there is so little passenger service is because 1 - due to the freight rail companies owning the tracks, they get priority over passenger trains, making passenger trains late constantly and the rails can’t accommodate bullet trains, 2 - the price of one passenger Amtrak ticket is way higher than gas, 3 - airline tickets are way cheaper than some Amtrak tickets. If we had trains like this, where they are efficient, on time and reasonably priced, Americans would absolutely take trains.

Entering into another nine days of train strikes here in the UK, which make it impossible to get to London via train, or in fact anywhere... It makes a person yearn for the convenience of Japan. By they way, in England, we are trying to make a high speed railway system... So far they have spent 90 billion GBP... That's 16,695,225,000,00 yen... And they haven't laid a single metre of railway track. Treasure your country of Japan... I wish we'd have employed Japanese people to make our railways!!

25:14 I’m Russian originally, and it’s not odd for me at all. Most older cities in Russia and even Ukraine have trams running in the middle of the street, especially in downtown areas. I’ve always admired the patience and skill of any driver who had to share a road with a tram (or street car). I think Poland has them too! We also have trolley-buses - buses powered by electricity. They have two long “horns” attached to the roof & connect to the wires above the roads. Sometimes those “horns” slip off and the driver has to fix them. It often happens at the intersections when the horns may not follow the path correctly and disconnect. Especially if the track connector at the intersection is 4-way or if there are dips in the concrete pavement. But overall, cheaper fares than gas operating buses & eco-friendly, i guess.

The same in Germany. If you want clean trains and a little bit space, you must travel ICE in first class - at horrendous prices. And even then, you can still look for the trains that are on time with a magnifying glass - and often enough they don't run at all. Just rubbish, The Bahn.
