3:44 This is a boundary marker. A line is chiselled into the stone, with a dot in the middle of the line. From the dot, two lines are chiselled that point towards the border. In other words, where the exact boundary lies. The side marked as France is France, and the side marked as Switzerland is Switzerland. This is the official border line. 🙂
