I love these Craftsman LT mowers I've owned several over the years and they've all served me very well, I also see my faithful BG blower basically indestructible lol. This video gives me good memories! The best part when its all CLEANED UP!

They are great machines. Proof right here that with a little love a rider of almost 30 years can still run and cut strong. True story on the blower. I ran it over last year with my trailer and it still runs great. Thank you for watching 🙏

Isn’t that the truth. We both know it’s rare to find a machine that doesn’t need a lot of repair. Yes I’m here in the south and it’s beginning to warm up. I don’t think I could handle the cold of the northern or Midwest states. Looking forward to your videos when it starts to warm up.

Cleaned up nice. I just found an old 17.5 horse 42" cut Murray Tractor that was destined for the scrap yard. Hoping to get it running again. Checked out your video to see how you went about it, and I spied a Grampies Workshop sticker on your bench. Very nice, he's a pretty cool old fella, ( my dear old dad). Good job with the tractor and the video.

@@freedommowers420 I use California Cover-all on all plastic and rubber. It's not cheap but it will make anything look like new. On the dash paint, I use cheap flat black paint in a spray can from Walmart. You can also use a propane torch (a flame) on the plastic front grill or trim. Check out the video I did on the GT262 for more tips.

you must try Mopar penetrating fluid for cleaning carbs , its life changing , carb cleaner is weak junk , soak jets etc.....in a cap full enough to cover em , spray it into carb everywhere , spay it into float bowl and let it sit for a while or overnight , clean everything out with brake cleaner and reassemble , stuff will blow yer mind , it will remove all gunk and varnish leaving jets etc... looking bran new do a lot of carbs and don't use carb cleaner anymore ,ultrasonic cleaners don't even beat it , if you sprayed it down that main jet and gave it time it would of came out guaranteed , and if it didn't come out the mopar would of cleaned the jet holes out anyways so no need to take it out really

Very nice older machine Alex. Runs and looks great and should be a easy sell. In Iowa that mower as a project would be on Market Place would say. For sale craftsman rider in decent shape. It ran the last time it was running and just needs alittle TLC. Its missing the right rear wheel and the other 3 just need tubes . A new carb and a fresh tune up and it will be ready for another summer of mowing. Oh by the way the deck is missing but im sure you can easily find a used one. Has a new steering wheel off of a 1961 ford Falcon and im willing to sacrifice this machine for only $200. Serious inquiries only! LMAO. Great job Alex and that rider looks super!! 👍🇺🇸Roger

I have a newer model of this mower with an odd issue. I was cutting grass one day and it just shut off. I initially thought the engine was locked up, but I eventually found that the starter had failed to disengage and had jammed in the flywheel, and the positive cable running to the starter motor was disconnected. I removed the starter and bench tested it. Other than a slight wobble to the bendix, it worked fine. I replaced the solenoid, but all I got after that was a click. I noticed that the new solenoid is clicking as soon as I begin to turn the key, and long before it gets to the start position. I disconnected the connector from the back of the ignition switch, and it is in rough shape. I reconnected the switch, turned it to the run position, and laid a piece of metal across the terminal on the solenoid. When I did this, the engine turned over, but the starter failed to disengage again, and got jammed in the flywheel. At this point, I am guessing that the ignition switch and the starter are bad. I am guessing the switch went bad, caused the starter to fail to disengage, and the starter was damaged when it got caught in the flywheel. Does this sound correct, or is there something else I can check? It has me stumped.

How you change the oil and spark plug
@freedommowers4202 жыл бұрын
Just take a look at the owners manual, or online to match the engine number. It should tell you the spark plug it needs as well as the oil type and amount.
