Riding My 600th Coaster! Up Close & Personal | Djurs Sommerland, August 2023

On August 7th 2023, I got to ride my 600th coaster, and went all the way to Denmark to do it. This was my experience at Djurs Sommerland - 8 coasters, bad weather, and a little tour that allowed us to get up close and personal with coaster #600.

Congratulations on 600! As a small note about the translations: For example, Piraten, Dragekongen and Juvelen all ends with -en, in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish that is one of the "articles" used: the equivalent to "The" in English so translation is technically The Pirate, The Dragon King and The Jewel. Just some language trivia and I hope to see more of your Nodic trip!

That day started off terrible with the weather and closed coasters! Glad it cleared up for us later in the day and standing on the track for that backstage tour is something I'll never forget! The 3 Intamins were easily my favorites of the park! Congrats again on 600! I'm looking forward to the next episode in the series!

Definitely sounds like you rode Piraten on a bad day. I usually find its forces to be elite, as I'm sure many more have said, too. But cold weather is its huge weakness. Nonetheless, congrats on 600 and great to see the fun you guys had with it!

On a bad day Piraten has airtime like Millie, but on a good day the ejector rivals something like Untamed

It's always awesome to watch people you follow visit your local park. Shame about the weather because Piraten really gets frisky by the end of a hot day. Never seen someone come away saying Dragekongen was the best in the park so that's really cool. Hope you enjoyed your stay and can't wait for more content from this awesome trip!

First off, even if they obviously share elements, which does every model from every manufacturer (especially any B&M model), they still have different enough layouts, always inventing some new maneuvers and all of that. Secondly, even when they feel similar, they are still extremely highly regarded, as their elements just work.

Congrats on 600. I should get to 600 next year. Pretty cool you got all the backstage time with that coaster. I think you needed better weather for it. It was similar to what I experienced with Kondaa a bit while I visited Walibi Belgium. It is in my teens but some I know have it much higher. I just dealt with wind and rain on it.

@@AirtimeThrills I got a boarding group (92) and it took until about 330 until I got to ride it, but it was worth it. My experience? The queue is fantastic, totally immersive, and the ride itself is awesome. No inversions but it’s so much fun and intense, and after you go into the show building it just gets better. The trains are a bit uncomfortable but it simulates riding a Lightcycle perfectly.
