You're riding looked in control (from what we see), bike sounded well damped. And, like the quiet hubs as I ride them myself. Thumbs up so far. Looking forward to the long term review.

I've always liked louder hubs, but it is pretty cool having them silent. So long as there's no creaking, cause that'd irritate my OCD.

You asked about the silent hub. I usually like it for videos, but....at times I actually wish there was at least a little noise, so I can tell when the rider is coasting versus pedaling. It doen't really matter much in your videos, because you're either making a long climb, or a pretty steep descent where very little pedaling is required. But...in a lot of other YT videos, it's nice to be able to tell if the trail was level with some descending, up and down, or all descending. The hub is really the only way to tell on a GoPro at times. But....man, the dead silent new bike on the trail....sounds AMAZING!

Love your videos bro! Your channel was the first one I started watching when I was really getting back into bikes and mtbing. I subscribed right away because I was blown away at the way you were/are able to rip down gnarly trails and just talk like you were sitting in a chair around a campfire or something! I loVe when you go bike shopping. Its almost like I am the one buying the bike as you talk about the different aspects of each bike as I would, or any of us. Anyway, dig the new bike and hope this one survives better than some of your previous!

The way your riding in this video makes this bike seem to fit like a glove 👌 Rad environment as well. Love the silent hub, somehow everything seems more amplified and even though a hub normally makes things and fast, at least in this kind of terrain, it sounds even faster with the silent hub! Love hearing the tyres grip and slide and the suspension working like a dream!

Absolutely beautiful trails nothing like down here in Australia love to get over there sometime. Have checked out the Knolly frames recently and like way they're doing things with the reinforced area at the BB and seat post junction. They kinda look odd the way the BB hangs out the back and the seat post is several inches in front I guess that's a different way of getting the rider into a good climbing position but still being stable on the decent.

i am very interested in onyx hubs but they have ONE thing stopping me from buying them and if i hear good reviews from you, nick, then i'm gonna send it on a rear hub. I've heard many times that over the course of a season or so of hard riding, the cam lobes that essentially act like ratchets in normal hubs can wear very quickly which causes the freehub to slip inside the hub. it makes me not want to spend $400 on the hub but it's one of the only instant engagement hubs on the market
