Takes me back to '76 and '77 with Sheene, Parrish, Grant and many more racing at the MCN Superbike rounds at Oliver's Mount. Seeing and hearing Barry on his TR and Mick on his KR, side by side up the hill from Mere is something that stays with you ...

First there was Mike the Bike....then came Mike the Spike!...I`m sure you`ve never heard that one before, haha. Congrats to everyone involved in getting this venue going again, if you`ve never been folks, get yourself there, the place is amazing. I worked on the seafront when I lived in Scarborough in the `70s, I heartily recommend getting down there after the racing for a few lungfuls of fresh air, which I`ve done many times since my early days there!

Let us know what it was like to ride , I remember a few of them in private hands, George Fogarty & Mick Noblett, and IIRC Harold Coppock had one, loved them.

The thing not to do when riding these old bike is try to compare them to modern stuff, its unfair as they were the best in there day. Obviously nowhere near the handling or brakes, power etc but still bloody quick when it came on pipe, loads of torque and punch at the top. They give you a sense of how good the riders of the day were to master them. Love them.
