Riding my motorcycle in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Today, I went around a rode through the heart of Pigeon Forge. I wanted to talk about the history of the name, and what are some of the cool attractions that are in this city right by the Smoky Mountains. Join me on my Harley Davidson Street Glide Special as I deal with some heavy traffic, but some cool sights.

Been to that area about 3 or 4 times. There are a couple of nice motorcycle resorts/camp grounds near the Tail of the Dragon and Robbinsville NC. Usually set up base camp there and spent 4 to 5 days enjoying the wonderful scenic roads. I’m sure you’ll eventually ride them all. Spending the first 50 years of my life in and near Chicago, cities and traffic have no appeal so I stayed away from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge as much as possible. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna like living near all that great riding!

Definitely a very large tourist trap, and yes, take the bypass around Gatlinburg! Funny when you mentioned Maryland being neutral; ever spend any time around Baltimore? Very definite accents there. Years ago I worked at a liquor store that was in the basement of the O club at Naval Med. in Bethesda, stuff was trucked in from warehouses in Baltimore, I about cracked up when one driver asked another, "You from up Bal'mer?" I have family in the Richmond area, so y'all isn't very foreign to me even though I'm a DC native (and spent a few of my young years in the Boston area). Now I'll just have to get over being jealous of how much great riding you have around you, of course I'll have to visit at some point!
@Broncoride

Baltimore is in a category all by itself. I avoid that area at all costs. 😎

Haha! Years ago George Carlin had a routine of a radio broadcaster starting out, "It's 11:00 in Los Angeles. It's 10:00 in Denver. It's 9:00 in Chicago. In Baltimore it's 6:42. Time for the 11:00 report." I used to listen to 98Rock in the morning when I was working as a courier, you'd hear odd bits in the holiday season like "Walking in an Essex Wonderland", appropriately accented of course. Frank Zappa's home town too, not to mention burial place of Edgar Allan Poe.
