I'd have loved to share a lot of Phantasialand trivia with you guys! It's always been my "home" park and videos like yours make me appreciate the park even more. It's amazing what they manage to deliver in terms of attractions, even though it's one of the most regulated parks of all. The massive walls of Taron covered in stone, the "walled in" feeling of F.L.Y. - it's not by choice but required by noise protection regulation and this park not only manages to work with it but to even improve the experiences by fully embracing it. Glad you've enjoyed your stay!

Oh, I think the thing about Wednesdays is that in some European countries that's a half day, so kids get out of school early that day etc. Phantasialand is just so gorgeous. I hope to go again this year!!!
@sandervandriel347610 ай бұрын
This indeed, most (not all) primary schools in western Europe have half/early days at school on Wednesday. That combined with the parttime work culture causes for a lot of parents being off work in Wednesdays which makes it the perfect day to do theme park visits outside of the ever more crowded weekends.

Phantasialand is easily Germanys best Theme Park. All people are always praising Europapark...but the rides and the theming are not even close to Phantasialand. Every ride at Phantasialand is super unique and they are not afraid to have rides that might not be that kids friendly. In Europapark every ride is trimmed down for familys. At Phantasialand you have: Taron: One of the best roller coasters of its type on earth with an absolutely amazing theming. Its forcefull, its long, it has a great soundtrack, it has so many unexpected moments and the 2nd launch is super special. Its also one of the few rides where it actually doesnt matter where you sit. I rode this coaster at least 100 times, and I cant say if the back or front is better. Even the seats in the middle are not really worse. FLY: Maybe not a really intense coaster, but its super fun to ride. The theming is the best I have ever seen on a roller coaster in the whole world. The ride is long and entertaining. The inversions are cool, the 2nd launch is also very much fun. Its a very innovative coaster and its definitly standing out and something special, something you cannot experience anywhere else in the world. Back row is definitly more intense than front row. I am a bit disappointed that it is not more thrilling and doesnt have a prezel loop or something similar. That would make it stand out even more and would fit perfectly to the parks concept of having a lot of good thrill rides. Mystery Castle: Definitly one of the best, if not the best dark ride in the whole world. Its super scary, even when you have been on it multiple times. The whole tower is solid, its an impressive building. When you stand inside on the ground of the tower, only the look at this super high walls are scary. The music and the story gives you some extra chills, its just perfectly done. The ride itself is pretty intense. There are 2 different ride programs. Program 1 is only available in the first half of the day. It only shoots you 1 time up and down...but going down is not just "free fall", its faster than that because the ride really shooting you down. That is pretty intense and you can feel that its faster than just a normal drop. Its very short, but a big more intense. Program 2 is only available in the 2nd half of the day. Its longer, a bit more scary since it has more story and waiting time with incredible music. The ride first lifts you up with much less force to around the 1/3 to 1/2 of the height and slowly brings you down to the ground again. Then that amazing storyline starts, the music blends in perfectly and you get shot up to the top just like in the first program. Then you hang on the top for a while and then its going down again, pretty fast, similar to a free fall, but its not extra accelerated like in the first program. Unfortunatly the park cant do a longer program since the launch system is pretty complicated and they would need to rebuild most of the ride to have a bigger launch capacity. Since the ride has won countless awards and is still voted into the top 3 flat rides in Germany every year, it might not be the top priority of the park to change that. Talocan: Just like mystery castle, this ride has also won many awards for the best flat ride in Germany. And I have to say, its definitly earned. It might only be a top spin ride, but the theming makes it super stunning to watch and also its amazing to ride it with that huge stone wall in the back and those special effects that are ALWAYS turned on. The soundtrack is also really good. The ride itself is very intense, for me the hardest flatride you can ride in a German themepark. Those 5-6 spins in a row are just crazy and like the video shows, you really feel that it has a lot of g-forces. I am pretty sure those +7 and nearly -2g are reached during those spins. You somehow get faster and faster during them. Just an amazing ride and I love Phantasialand for being bold enough to build a ultra intense thrill ride, that is too hard for many visitors. Its still loved and very well rated. Colorado Adventure: That is an awesome mine train. In my opinion only Big Thounder Mountain in Disneyland Paris is even better. The fun thing is that its a very kid friendly ride in the front, but at the same time, the back rows are just crazy forcefull and wild. You really have to hold on tightly at the safety bar. Its a very long ride and has 3 lift hills and it has some pretty long and good indoor parts. Like I said, the back rows are pretty intense and that makes it a perfect ride for every visitor, there is even a lot of ejector airtime. I love this ride very much and I think its very underrated. For sure one of the best mine train rides in the world. Black Mamba: I am not a huge fan of Black Mamba, but this ride is already pretty old. I remember when it opened, it was a huge hit and for sure one of the best coasters in Germany. The theming was absolutely crazy, it was superiour to all Germany had to offer at this time. Nowadays, its still the same coaster and same theming, but you can see that its aged and it somehow doesnt have the same vibe as it opened. The coaster is very clearly a back row ride. Its fun, it has some good inversions and it feels damn fast in those small corridors. It reminds me a bit of Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa, which is often considered to be the most intense inverted coaster on earth. Black Mamba is way too short to compete, but its built in a similar way, kind of underground with walls on the side. When I ride this coaster, I am always most impressed by its speed. Its still the best inverted coaster in Germany (there are not many) in my opinion, but it could be maintained a bit better, it definitly deserves an update. Winjas Fear and Force: These coasters are just pure fun. The whole Wuze Town (the building they are in) is really cool and I remember how amazed I was as a kid every time I saw that. The coasters are still very smooth and very unique and have special elements, which you do not see very often on roller coasters. Europapark has the Arthur Ride now, which is in my opinion a very brazen copy of Wuze Town. The similarities are way too much to deny that. Its pretty obvious. For me Wuze Town will always be something unique and a brilliant idea to put in a theme park for rainy days. Phantasialand has always been a park that has unique rides and fantastic ideas how to showcase them. River Quest: Its so sad that you could not go on this ride. Its by far the best rafting ride in the world and also absolutely on of the worlds best water rides. When you ride it for the first time, you actually cannot believe your eyes and you really think you are going down a wrong way because its absolutely crazy. I have never seen anything similar to this and I am pretty sure its a once in a lifetime experience, that you cant get anywhere else. I am really not a big fan of water rides, but this one is a must do, it just blows your mind. No footage comes even close to what it is in reality. Like Talocan and Mystery Castle in the flat ride category, River Quest or Chiapas are usually winning the anual water ride award. River Quest therefore has won so many awards since its opening and its 100% deserved. Its around for a long time and still there is nothing similar in the world. The theming is great, its a huge complexe and very well done and the ride itself is nothing but amazing. Chiapas: That ride reminds me so much to the Disneyland Anaheim Splash Mountain, which is unfortunately closed now. The theming is really impressive, you dont see much of the ride from the outside few, so you will be surprised how long that ride is and how well the theming is done basically in every inch of this ride. Its incredibly detailed and beautifull. The ride offers some surprises and is pretty intense for being a water attraction. When it opened it had the worlds steepest drop in a water ride and I think that record is still existent. Its for sure one of the best long fume rides in the world, even though I still think River Quest is a better attraction. Overall I think that Phantasialand is by far Germanys best Theme Park. Since Taron has opened, this park makes Europapark look pretty boring. Still Europapark is winning awards for being the worlds best theme park, which I just dont get at all. Mass doesnt equals class. Europapark might be big and have very many rides, but none of them is a world class coaster, none of them is as unique as the Phantasialand rides and for being such a huge park its not acceptable to have not only single high thrill attraction. I would only consider Wodan to be within the Top 10 coasters in Germany. But when you look at what Europe has to offer, its definitely not even in the top 10 anymore and worldwide, Europaparks coasters are completely nowhere. I even think Hansapark has overtaken Europapark. They have 2 amazing coasters with Kärnan and Novgorod. Also when it comes to theming, Europapark can simply not compete with some other theme parks in Germany. Phantasialand is miles ahead, just compare Blue Fire with Taron...Blue Fire looks like a construction zone compared to Klugeheim. Silver Star basically doesnt have any theming. There are so many areas in Europapark that are not themed at all, that you simply dont see in Phantasialand. Even though Europapark is much closer to my home, I always prefer going to Phantasialand. I am curious about the new coaster Europapark is building now, but I fear its just another family attraction and nothing that offeres a high thrill experience. I hope I am wrong though.

@kimiisland980210 ай бұрын
Yes, I have to agree. Its unmatched. The Taron and Black Mamba Theming is already crazy good, but FLY just tops that. Most amazing theming I have ever seen and seeing it in live is even better. I also have to say that FLY might not be the most intense coaster and I was very angry that Phantasialand built a flying coaster without a loop or prezel loop since its by far my favourite element in coasters, but the coaster is still fun to ride and very entertaining. I still have no doubt that a prezel loop would still have been super nice and also very suitable for that park since they are not afraid of hard thrill like Europapark.
