What a spectacular intro Jamie with a banging' soundtrack. I hope you have put factor 50 on that lovely heed of yours. Stunning scenery. You are a TOP rider. Wonderful entertainment as always. How you manage to do a commentary and still hit the trail so fast is always impressive. Sitting up late watching this. Cheers. Stoozer. 🤠👍🏻

The mountains seem to be much higher in Switzerland than your Scottish ones. Great trails with some magnificent views offering double viewing pleasure. Thanks Jamie.

Thank you. Yup, the mountains were very grand. The peaks were around the 2800m mark so almost three times as high as the Scottish mountains I normally ride. What a place!

Love watching trail videos from Switzerland from yourself on recent trip and from others, really shows off the excellent build quality of the flow trails that descend through the mountains for miles, enjoy finding the singletrack trails nice to explore, thanks for sharing Jamie, excellent video! 😁🤙

Cheers Gary. Without doubt, Switzerland has to be one of the most stunning places to ride bikes. This is the first time I've ridden in that alpine environment and it blew my mind. And you are right, there is some great trail building 🤙 Thanks for taking the time to comment Gary 😀

Another super video mate well done!! Place looks off the scale. What causes the algorithm problems? 🤘

Cheers man. I think at the crux of it is how much interest your subs initially show in it. However, it sets up a compounding issue. For example, let's say 12% of your subs clicks on the vid in their feed when it first drops. YT will promote that to more of your subs and maybe give you 100,000 impressions in the first week. However, let's say only 9% of your subs watch initially when it first drops. YT will stop showing it to your other subs and maybe give you 10,000 impressions. So ultimately it is my responsibility to make click friendly content. What I would say though is that YT really harshly treats marginal differences. It means two really good videos can have massively different views, all because of a thumbnail, or a title, or even that there were more vids to choose from on the particular day you dropped it. It's just a bit brutal 🙈

Absolutely lovely vids from the bike kingdom, both this one and the dark side/älplisee one - Promised myself I need to go here, definitely a goal for next summer. Out of curiosity, what kind of casing tires do you ride, full on downhill casing? Or something in the middle?
@streetpigeonmtb
@streetpigeonmtb Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Vids from abroad are always tricky as people tend to be more interested in the UK ones. So I'm really pleased you liked them. I run EXO+ casings, so middle of the road type tyres. I'm physically fairly light (just over 80kg) and not a hard rider. I have no problems at all although I always make sure that I run a reasonable tyre pressure - I rode the tyres a bit firmer on this holiday to protect from the rock. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any questions about the trip 👌

@@streetpigeonmtb Thank you for the answer! I have probably watched every bike kingdom video there is to watch on youtube, and yours are by far the best ones so far, at least cinematography-wise. The drone shots are beautiful! Okay - I run exo+ at home in Sweden righr now, but was looking to upgrade to at least doubledown casing in the rear, since I sometimes tend to just ”aim and shoot” and let the bike do its thing, plus having 10-15kg up on you. Case in point - My broken €1000 carbon rear wheel from the bike park last weekend. I think a tougher casing, and somewhat higher pressure might be wise for the great white for example! Well, I have done a fair bit of research, so maybe if you have some good tips on hotels, and where is it best to stay in your opinion, chur, arosa, lenzerheide? Also - I have seen different comments on full face helmets. Are they allowed everywhere now, or is it best to bring a ”regular” helmet aswell?
@streetpigeonmtb
@streetpigeonmtb Жыл бұрын
@Doggepp full face are deffo OK. And I'd say Chur is probably the location you want to stay in. Arosa was good but quite out the way!
@Doggepp
@Doggepp Жыл бұрын
@@streetpigeonmtb Okay! Good to know - I remember reading/seeing somehwere that downhill bikes and full face helmets were not allowed on some lifts, because it could indicate you are riding "too hard" - Which I can understand. I will look at places in Chur then, thank you!
@streetpigeonmtb
@streetpigeonmtb Жыл бұрын
@Doggepp nice. I hope you make it out there and enjoy the place. It really is pretty special. Check out the Bike Kingdom app for a map of the trails. You'll deffo want to stay in Chur or Arosa. Arosa makes accessing the Lenzerheide/Arosa trails that bit easier but means the Chur trails are more tricky and vice versa.
