I wish they would bring out a modern comfortable equivalent of the SV1000, I loved mine! That engine still had the character of the TL!

It wouldn't be hard to do. The engine is still around in some way in the form of the V-Strom DL1000 🖒

Greetings, enjoyed your review. In the early 80's when l took my Canadian motorcycle safety council course, our instructor had a Kantana. I thought, what a cool bike with it's fairing. The motorcycle l used in the course was a 1980's Yamaha Exciter 250cc., now with a name change, part of Yamaha's V-Star line up. Safe Travels.

Some of those roads you'd only get one car down at a time. They are tight. Haha.

Top review 👍 I love the gsxs1000 but the snatchy throttle response ruined it.... Glad that's been sorted for this one 😁
@RebelRides5 жыл бұрын
I never had too much of an issue with the previous bike but it's definitely better on the Katana. Apparently the 2019 GSXS has the new Katana throttle cam so that is improved too.

Just got a new 19 plate gsx-s1000z yesterday and can confirm there is no throttle problem now 😋😎

Good one, catch air on a demo ride! Just not sure about the look of the dash area while sitting on the bike...

It actually looks better than it does on camera but I know what you mean. Getting air made me feel like I was at the Isle of Man TT! 😂

Rode one last weekend, really liked the look of the bike much better in the flesh than in pictures, pretty dissapointed in the on off throttle and thought the engine performance was a bit lack lustre, front brakes had very little feel too, other than that some good deals available on them just now.
@RebelRides5 жыл бұрын
I suppose its what bikes you are used to. I never had too much problem with the throttle for me the biggest issue was the stiff rear shock. I like a softer ride and the power was enough for me for my kind of riding. I'd never be pushing the bike too far to get those brakes into a state of fatigue. I think they could have made it more focused one way or another. Either a softer sport tourer or a more hardcore super naked. It's a Suzuki so deals will always be had. I think they priced it too high to begin with anyway 🖒

Dazzle Яebel Rides yes it is set up quite stiff ,I’ve only just started playing with the suspension.

That was a good review, and although I like the Katana brand (I have a '88 GSX1100F with 112,000+ Km on it) I really hate the back end of all the new sport bikes with that huge weird looking gap above the back tire and the tiny pad the passenger is expected to sit on. I'm a old guy and remember Katana's when they first came out. They looked a bit strange, but I still kind of wished I could afford one. At my age (67) I still love acceleration, so I do like a bike with power, but for my tastes a good two up sport touring bike that's comfortable for both me and the wife are the only kind I'd consider, and it doesn't look like either Suzuki or Honda offer anything like that any more. Yamaha has the FJR1300 and Kawasaki the Concours though of which either would fit the bill nicely.

Personally I've always been more into cruisers and riding solo. Luckily my wife also rides so I don't need to worry too much about pillion comfort! Haha.

@@RebelRides Same here. I've got an MT-01 and a Buell Ulysses, but a B-King, also. The Hayabusa/B-King engine in the Katana would be something, though, albeit a heavy something.

I am 5-7 29-30 inseam do you have to bend too much to reach the bars? Other reviewers said that below 30mph throttle is snatchy and jerky. how would it fare in urban traffic and everyday use/commute?
@RebelRides4 жыл бұрын
I'm 5'7" 28" inside leg and no problem for me handling the bike. People who complain about 'snatchy' throttle are forgetting that it's a sports bike with straight bars.

We need to blame the beurocrats for the stupid wheel hugger. BMW, Indian, Ducati all have similar in their range and nothing a tail tidy wouldn't sort out.
