Super happy to see world class riders saying nice words about the trails. If bike park is your thing there is Morzine, but if natural tech is your thing, then wed love to welcome you all. Word of warming, not much riding suitable for beginner, especially so when wet (just ask Ed Masters!)t. We have something like 4 or 5 trails with 2,000m of decent. Cheers guys. Your kind words are much appreciates

As a local of Les Houches and trail builder I am glad to see your appreciation of the trails. LOL at 1:32 on the comments about the croissants : Eric Jacquier is the worst bakery in France ! We can't have it all. Also new secret trails in the making (shussshhh)

Trails look a blast, real dry though. Don't know what it says about me, but didn't realize where you were until you approached that section Mr.Ed had the HUGEY on, when I saw that I instantly recognized it and remembered that OTB. Weird weather the world over, so dry there, here rainy AF, serious flooding in other places 😕

We had to deal with the same beetle texi was talking about in Northern California, there was a huge drought and our huge like 100 foot pine trees started snapping in half

Next time you're in the area there's a trail you should check out on the opposite side of the valley, from Parc de Merlet down to Les Gaillands nr Chamonix. You can drive most of the way up to it, its only a 5min push or ride and then its all DH from there. It starts with a fairly steep but manageable stair case followed by a really tricky narrow exposed rock hop/drop but after that it's pretty sick flowy singletrack all the way. Its also worth spending a day sessioning Vallorcine/Le Tour at the other end of the valley and also at Grand Montets (in the middle of the valley) there're a couple of routes down from the mid station, one longer trail to Le Lavancher which starts with a fast fire road and a 5min climb into some sick singleetrack, some flowy some steep tech, my mate calls it the ladyboy trail as its got something for everyone. Then there's also La Trappe which is 49 switchbacks including "the corner of death" back to the bottom of the lift. Lots of French turns and some pretty exposed tech!
