This ride doesn't have any flaw. Not even a little one. If some people say it's "not that good" it could be because they don't enjoy the ride's craziness or just prefer traditional coasters (like, pacing and speed are the most important qualities in a coaster for them), and I don't blame them. This ride is not a regular ride, so it has to be quite divisive. But man, if you don't have this kind of "preferences", this HAS to be one of the greatest creation a theme park could ever have seen. It has all, you name something and it's there. The airtime is the most extreme (over -2gs!!!) and it's very creative, like it's not given only by the standard airtime hills, but also the two moments on the top hat, during 2nd launch, during THE INVERSIONS (front row Og roll and double inverting dive loop give crazy ejector!), so it's absolutely not repetitive like most coasters focused on airtime. It has 6 inversions (more than most of the coasters) and very unique launches...what else can I say? Oh yeah, I forgot that theming and soundtrack. Really, the level of perfection of this ride leaves me speechless every time.

Just to add some context… Plopsaland is part of an entertainment company that just like Disney has plenty of other activities. There is a small Plopsapark they took over a dying park) in the Ardennes region, no need to go there. There are indoor parks for very small kids, like the one in Hasselt. They are also involved in swimmingpools, and then there is the (huge) stage musical division. The quite active musical scene in Belgium benefits from their mega musicals they organize with the seating spaces driving around in a big hall. It creates a more cinematographic experience of a musical. They also have music groups, artists, christmass shows, kids shows, TV programs, … They started in the Flemish part of Belgium but they are also active in the French speaking part of Belgium, in the Netherlands, Germany, … One of the funny things is that their CEO is a TV personality who particpates in or even hosts talkshows. And in these shows he gives quite some insight in his personal live.
@SuddenReal3 ай бұрын
Also, as stated in the video, the park was created in 1935, as part of a honey company (Meli) and at the time was just a playground with a maze and a merry-go-round, adding more things over the years. It really took off when they were forced to rebuild due to a fire and the arrival of two other amusement parks in Belgium in '79. It was taken over by Studio 100 in 1999 who renovated it and renamed it to Plopsaland (an amalgation of their two most popular characters at the time, Plop and Samson). The founder of the park was inducted after his death to the Hall of Fame of the Internatainal Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions in '99.

Also, this park is quite new and used to be a complete different one, with a theming based on bees, with very little worth while attractions, it's only When Studio 100 bought it that it became one of the more popular family theme parks in Belgium. Im a coaster enthusiast, business owner, and dad of 2. Probably will never be able to make it to that side of the planet anytime soon. We really need a big name park in the US to step up and build a bigger/ better ride to happiness. I'm really shocked that a park hasn't to date. Time traveler looks great but it has a controlled spin. If a park like Busch Gardens, Six Flags, or Seaworld built one of these beautiful coasters they would have every enthusiast in the world at their park opening year. It would be such a great investment so why hasn't anyone stepped up and done it. This model seems very reliable and Ride to Happiness cost less than 20 million usd. Much less than a giga or hyper coaster. Everyone that rides it says its the best coaster they have ever ridden. I think the best park to build this model would be Cedar Point. After the TT2 disaster Cedar Point owes us this.

THIS! I keep wondering why in the hell nobody in the U.S. has stepped up and done this. It make no sense to me that they haven't. And you're right, Cedar Point should DEFINITELY do this! People think that the only reason why rth is so loved by him and so many people is the craziness. Of course eejanaika could be crazier, But...is every ride different? Could it be marathoned without getting sick? Has it an amazing soundtrack? Has it a beautiful theming? Could it be handled by everyone (for example, I don't like extremely intense coasters)? I love that you love rth but its no where near no1 for me. Not because its not good but because the spinning doesnt just fo much for me. I tend to get nauseous but even if not I immediately try to orient myself when spinning so I take some of that thrill away and never quite could let go and give in to the expreience as a whole as you guys obviously did. Given that the ride is still awesome, great layout, unique elements, good launches and awesome theming+ setting. Just not number 1 material. Lacking height, speed and standout moments it just cant compete with Zadra especially ( my undisputed number 1) and even the likes of Hyperion, Untamed and Voltron I prefer. Objectively it beats out Geforce, Taron, Kondaa and some more that I have ridden. Airtime is good too but not as strong as prime intamin or rmc if we are honest. So in short: The main thing that puts this over the edge for many people, the spinning, is more disorienting for me and not adding to the thrill. Subtracting that the layout will just never compete with a ride like Zadra. So yeah^^

@@raginggerman5377 yes but coaster enthusiast will care. My friends will care, since they live nearer to holiday park than plopsaland, and since they would rather go to a more adult park to a family one. Plopsa should have taken into account that rth is already in a disvantaged position, and should have kept it special and something that is still worthy, alone, a long travel to plopsaland. Now it won't be worthy anymore. And since there's nothing else at plopsaland that would keep enthusiasts from all the world going there, rth will be maybe forgotten and abandoned by enthusiasts. Obviously I'm not talking about general public, people who live there. I'm talking about this community, and I don't think that plopsa group doesn't know that rth is well regarded in the coaster community and it's very iconic. Why ruining this iconicity. This is what I mean.

@@raginggerman5377 I also wanted to add: if they're doing it because it will work out financially, they're doing it for making more people going there. Like you said, enthusiasts are only about 1% of those people. So, what's the reason of wanting to make "an even more intense" ride, like they announced? In this way, you make a double damage: you not only are taking away EVERY reason for enthusiasts to go ride rth, but also you're risking to do something too intense for all the remaining 99% people who will attend the park. Results? Once they saw it's too intense, they won't ride it anymore. Great investment, uh? So in the end, what they got? Enthusiasts that moved from plopsaland to holiday park (because it's nearer, better and the ride is more intense), and the majority of people who refuses to ride the new coaster for being too much. It's not a great choice, when they could have, instead, valorised and took high the name of ride to happiness, while building in holiday park a coaster with the same model but a little "less" intense (still very thrilling tho, given the ride model), to make it enjoy to the general public, and with a different theme as well. You make something that makes a lot of people wanting to go to the park and you still keep rth something that is worthy a travel to plopsaland, especially for coaster fans.

@@aridaje4345 They do that in the entire park. Some rides open very late, ranging from 1 to 2 hours after park opening (RTH sometimes 2 hours late) and they close them very early too. Their food and beverage is not edible and extremely expensive too
