Hi Rik, many thanks for the kind words and I agree these bikes need to be seen in motion to be really appreciated and I hope to make many more about interesting ancient wonders, all the best Paul.

My dad had a Brough Superior with sidecar. He used to take the whole family out in it for years, great times.

so nice to see the Broughs at Clouds Hill. thanks for posting this, hope there will be more. You couldn't have had a better ambassador for mbikes than TE and you have maintained that tradition. I don't know why the IWM got rid of his Brough which was great to see. safe riding and thank you. peter

Nothing to see ,just "another" part of our history gone! Same with Raf hendon exhibits lost. Great video,Lawrence was one of my late fathers heroes.

Hi Peter, I am glad you enjoyed watching the film and TE was a very proper motorcyclist - he bought the world's fastest motorcycles and rode them until they were crashed or worn out and then he bought another one and carried on. Running his bikes flat out on the bumpy rutted roads of the era and riding 500+ miles in a day. The Brough at the IWM (Imperial War Museum) has been in private hands for a long time and was lent to the IVM for display. The bike once changed hands for £1! Best regards Paul.

Got to love the Sturmey Archer gear shift no doubt from the factory around the corner from Brough. Chugging along at a brisk pace on it now must have felt like light speed 100 years ago!

Richard Thompson should write a song and story about this machine.....I fear to make mention of The VBL ..... a beautiful relic of a motorcycle, classic.

Hi Lawrence himself had the following to say about riding his SS100 - "A skittish motor-bike with a touch of blood in it is better than all the riding animals on earth.." - A feeling we can all appreciate. Appreciated that you have taken the time to comment, regards Paul.

Hi Bill, you would like The Brough Superior Club, it is full of friendly generous people who enjoy using the bikes. They treat them as bikes and use them as you can see with the owner of this SS100. Too many valuable/rare machines are now locked away and never used so I enjoy seeing, hearing and smelling these ancients wonders in actions. Thanks for watching and kindly taking the time to comment, all the best Paul.

@crashburnfly thank you so much paul. That was a wonderful message. I'm an American ( please don't judge, we're not all Trump trash) so there are no clubs like that near me. You guys are so lucky. In more ways than one. 😐

Hi Bill, If you are ever coming to the UK, then ping me a message and I can find a Brough gathering for to join in with. The Club are a friendly bunch. All the best Paul.

@crashburnfly dang Paul, that's awfully damn nice of you. Honestly, I'm scared to death of airplanes, large bodies of water, and human beings in general if I don't know them. But that offer would just about, not quite, but just about get me on an airplane. 😅😅😅 You seem like a terrific guy and I wish there was more people like you in the world. You have a great day brother. And keep the shiny side up.

A truly wonderful and still road legal sound seems to be even more expensive than speed. Do those straight roads follow old roman tracks?
@crashburnfly2 күн бұрын
The SS100 does make a very fine sound when ticking over and doing a mile a minute! Flat out on one in 1925 must have been quite an experience! Re Roman roads ... I had the same thought as many are very straight and the ancient maps show that some are Roman and some may just be the military of a centuries ago just taking the shortest route from A-B. Whoever made them ... always tempting when riding a bike to stretch its legs and let it take the air. Thanks for watching and for the feedback, best regards Paul.

The bikes history has been known for a long time and the Brough Club has a vast archive and this is definately a genuine 1925 SS100. There are some fantstic tales of people finding SS100's decades ago and buying them for almost nothing. The SS100 that Lawrence died riding, once changed hands for a £1! Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts, regards Paul.

Hi, the bike is very brisk and the motor is healthy. With old bikes too much oil is better than not enough. With my 1911 Triumph the period advice on oiling was that you should have a light oily plume of smoke following you as an indication of giving it enough oil. Thanks for watching, Paul.
