Looks like you all had a beautiful day to ride in the mountains. Have fun and ride safe!

Nice! Always a pleasure to see you folks out having fun. I had to look up the Pisgah Hwy., turns out it's a major part of a route I'm piecing together for my next trip down that way (I only knew it as US276, didn't know the name). No idea if what I'm looking at doing can be done in one day or if it will take two; some of my rides can be pretty long, since I often have a small window to squeeze them into before I have to head home, which takes a full day in itself. Had to cut one day short last time due to the cold front that came through overnight; I was in Robbinsville, about to head up onto the Cherohala, and a guy in a car who'd just came over told me it was 25 degrees up there! The gear I had wasn't good enough to handle that, I'd already stopped to warm up three times that morning, so I headed back to Maggie Valley (stopped at a nice restaurant on 74 called River's End, been there?)

The River’s End is definitely a great restaurant! Ate there the last time we were over in Maggie Valley.

Nice place for sure, and I had some surprise scenery when a steam train went by on the other side of the river! Thought the whistle was coming over the restaurant's sound system at first, turned out to be the Great Smoky Mtn. Railroad that runs by there.

It would be fun to ride the train sometime. My wife and have talked about it for years! I guess we just need to go do it!

After reading the comments and TwistyGrip4180 mentioned he didn't die, I was looking for the "see me almost die" award moment potentially. I like the engine wind up shots. Glad ya'll are enjoying the days!

Can you ride two up on the NT650 Hawk? I can't tell if the rear pegs are passenger pegs or a rear set.
@HawkGirlMistyV Жыл бұрын
Yes you can ride two up on the Hawk but it’s not great. The rear pegs are for a passenger.

@@HawkGirlMistyV I got my '89 Hawk, it has a little ding in the gas tank, and a crack on the plastic around the saddle, not sure if I will just leave it as is or repair it. The prior owner took off the turn signals. It runs and gets around OK, but idle is a little rough, and probably the carbs need some cleaning or tuning for best results.
