Rido Weds Licha - Authentic Nyishi Tribal Wedding (Nyeda) | Arunachal Pradesh | India

This has been a ride and a journey to surely remember because of the awesome road.
Choba (Bride's village) comes under Palin circle which is under Kara Dadi district while Dem village comes under Lower subansiri district. Both are Nyishi inhabitant area and we speak the same dialect. The only thing that differs is the pronunciation .
P.s. : The Nyishi community is the largest ethnic group in Arunachal Pradesh in north-eastern India.
They are spread across eight districts of Arunachal Pradesh: Kara Daadi, Kurung Kumey, East Kameng, West Kameng, Papum Pare, parts of Lower Subansiri, Kamle and Pakke Kesang district. The most populous being the Akang and Leil community of Papum Pare districts.

Sorry no offence but i think the nyishi tradition of exchanging ornaments infront of everyone while confirming its authenticity, is very weird. Looks like some kind of public business exchange for a ceremony so pure n beautiful. What about those who come from humble background?? Also i heard this specific ritual sometimes ends up in ugly fights.

That's one way to look at it ,but at this point the tribe is kind of used to with the tradition and if the ornaments are not authentic , they can always approach in a good way . I think a wedding ending up into fights was during the old times or if there's any personal motive to fight because up till now I haven't heard any wedding ending up like that . But about the ornaments ,you gave some valid points ,it can ignite a fire.

Exchanging ornaments is only for rich people.because of this practice our poor people's are marrying plain Mirris, adivasis from assam and bodo girls from assam.as poor boy can't afford mithuns and parents of poor girls can't afford ornaments.
