Just purchased a Gazelle 380 plus. CVT, Gates Belt drive, Bosch mid drive 85 nm, Bosch 500 watt battery. 28 mph New $4,749 USD Purchased used with 93 miles $3,200 USD. My battery is a little smaller but I have the same Gates belt drive, CVT, and Bosch motor putting out 85 nm. Gazelle is made in the Netherlands and is half the price.

Interesting video. If I can save enough money, this might be my next e-bike. Bosch Smart System looks good, and the battery capacity is increased. Bosch is releasing ABS brakes for e-bikes this/next year. That might be a must to have 😛 I'm also looking into Kalkhoff bikes.

The ABS would be great. I didn't have need for them during my time with the bike...but that might be different in Winter! If you're really interested in battery capacity they have another model with two batteries for a total of about 1,200Wh...plenty of range there! beautiful bike, would like this as a successor to my current bike. Do hear people complain about the sound of the engine, as heard at 7:12 in the video. Will take a test drive soon, but if it makes just as much noise it will probably be a Kalkhoff.

Hi James, it's a lot of money. The exact one we had would cost around €5,000 in Ireland. But these videos get watched in various countries...so between varying currencies and local incentives/schemes it's hard to give people figures. I really hope the Irish government will increase the limits on the Bike to Work scheme, as I think it would give a lot of people the incentive to make the jump. Hope you'll review some eBikes in more modest price brackets.

Hi Jay! The one we had was around €5k-€6k in Ireland. But of course that'll change depending on incentives/schemes wherever you're living. Lot of money...but a top class product!

Would love to see some reviews of more affordable bikes available here in Ireland. This is obviously very nice but expensive. I live in the country so I’d love to see how these bikes hold up on the rougher roads. Some bikes prices like tenways ones would be good. Even ones the like the Raleigh bikes. Are they any good for all types of Irish roads.

I would certainly recommend the Homage4 GT Rohloff HS, but not this. Umm no, I have the Riese & Müller Charger3 GT Vario HS. That gearing system is lousy and for the money it should have full front and rear suspension. My cheap Mokwheel Obsidian is a far better bike at a fraction of the price.
