I was a spinner in the 70s and 80s. Many steps taken out with these machines. I never thought I'd miss spinning. I was very good at it and always had more machines to look after than others. Boy I miss it.

I miss it too. I like the 2 processes ring spinning and rotor spinning. theres a new process called air jet spining which unfortunately i could only get to know on the internet.

The operator needs to put up her hair. We had a operator who got her lose hair wrapped up in a turning roller once and pulled her entire scalp off. IMHO

These machines took out other processes and killed jobs for a inferior product. Old style cotton mills were way better in keeping quality control at a higher level.

.....minus speedframes and ring spinning subs by open end. agree old styles was way better than OE

But the ring spinning method still exists and is used in thin yarns. The OE is not capable of making extra-thin yarn. Depending on the clothes the yarn will be made of, it doesn't make sense to use ring spinning, if there's a faster method for it. Ring Spinning is only used on top-of-the-line clothing.
