Ally X is my dream handheld. It looks like a great machine!

It’s my favorite of the 3. I don’t think I was clear lol. But yeah very excited for next gen. This is a fun, growing market.

Looking forward to your next video! I really like the way you compare things

That’s super kind of you! I drop videos every Friday morning. But this “riff” style will become more common in January. I’m trying to block off time once a week to just then the camera on and talk about the tech I’m using.

Great video. I have purchased Ally (returned), Steam Deck Oled, Legion Go (returned) and Ally X. I gave the Steam Deck Oled to my son after getting the Ally X. Just love the thing. Pro tip - Go into the AMD app, display settings, custom colors, and up the saturation to 125 or so. It really makes the Ally X screen pop. Still not as nice as the SD Oled or as big and pretty as the Go, but it does make it much better IMO.

Thank you! I see the difference already.

Ally x is basically an extreme with bigger battery and more ram.
@fightnight14Ай бұрын
The X makes more sense if you play portably. The Go is too big and the battery life sucks
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
I’m mostly playing the Go now so I can do a proper video soon. I agree with you.

I bought the go and the x during Black Friday and the go screen is awesome but ended up going with the ally I’m strictly gaming and that things a beast
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
That’s great! Congrats on that. You can really play many of the latest games on it. I’m going to try Path of Exile 2 Friday. Excited!

@ thank you and for sure I do feel bad because I didn’t really download games much and tinker the setting on the Go but it was just becoming clear that although it’s a super cool gadget with a lot of versatility but I want gaming performance fully and with Lenovo not pushing updates I didn’t have much hope for it in the future I just ordered a portable monitor for it I’m hyper enjoy to brother
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
You’re right though. And it seems we’ll be getting new Legion Go devices soon. I imagine Lenovo are more focused on that. And the recent deals are wild. $475 for a Go! Another clue they are being cleared out. Diving into the settings of the Go is less clear to me than the Ally. Do you feel the same?
@ksu3086Ай бұрын
@ absolutely I feel there is tech savy ppl that can sideload drivers and do this and that but with armory crate it just is way more seamless and user friendly and as much as I would like an upgraded pro I also don’t want to spend my hard earned money on a company that clearly gave up on its product the go came out a year ago at the most recent update was like 6 months ago thats insane to me I feel bad for those that paid for price for it
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
Wow I didn’t realize it’s been that long…not good at all. At release there was a Lenovo employee communicating a lot in the subreddit. That was fun to watch and I didn’t even have one at the time.

Thoughts on having both the Legion Go and the Ally X? Do you think it's worth it?
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
Those two without a Steam Deck, sure. You have a large screen device and a more travel friendly device. They’re ultimately similar in performance, however. Whereas the Deck is clearly less performant and easy to travel with.

@ you think Samsung drivers are reliable my 980 pro crapped out on me after a year and half
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
Damn that sucks. I have been using Samsung drives for years (laptops, desktops).

I was struggling with either to keep my steam deck oled or the ROG Ally X. I just get a little worried about ASUS’s longevity and customer service.
@TechAdventure1Ай бұрын
Totally valid. I think I Valve is on another level. I subscribe to Best Buy’s Total membership so my Ally X is covered by a full warranty for 2 years. Otherwise I probably would not have purchased it at full price.
