Thanks so much for this tutorial. I just bought my daughter a rifle for her senior year since her school uses nothing but flags, I thought that I should get her on to practice with seeing how she is going to college guard and most of them use all different props. She is the only one in her guard that has used other props. In her last school she used a saber so I figured learn rifle. So now she can be the most well versed on her squad. I didn't know how hard it was to tape a rifle until I had to do it my self. Thanks again for the post huge help.

He said sabers are less prone to breaking since they’re made of metal, but I suggest taping your saber if you’re spinning indoors. Dropping on hard surfaces shocks the metal and greatly weakens it, but tape helps absorb the shock of the impact so that it lasts longer.

If only there was a way to keep your strap from stretching 😩
@shaynemedina1876 жыл бұрын
Seth DeLamour just adjust the straps by tightening it. Unbolt the strap and match the hole to the next one to keep a tighter fit, like you would in a belt. Put the bolt back and tape it over and you should be good.

How do i stretch my rifle strap. I know im a bit late. A fyew years to late but pleaseeee i need help. 😂😂
@PaulScript5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you move the screw to another hole, it'll probably end up being TOO loose. To deal with it, you kinda just have to do a lot of strap twirls. That's what I usually do. Over time, the strap will slacken and eventually be normal again.

So which do you think is better to tape a rifle electrical tape or duct tape and why ?
@PaulScript5 жыл бұрын
electrical tape...the problem with duct tape is the residue left behind can turn out to be a lot more problematic when trying to retape. Duct tape is strong for sure, but is never meant to be taken off, its very strong with its fibers and whatnot, but I think its too heavy in comparison to electrical tape. Electrical tape is lightweight and easy to use when taping
@scoobydaniel6926 жыл бұрын
Do you know how to tape it the paramount way because I want my practice one taped like that
@PaulScript6 жыл бұрын
SO, my friend finally responded to me from Paramount, basically he tapes it the same way I do, using white tape to cover the ends, the clips and the middle. Then he tapes around the edges using black tape, keeping the two faces of the rifle white.

if the rifle has already been taped eitrh strapping tape do i have to use it again?
@abbyshepardson98654 жыл бұрын
If my rifle is already taped is it cool to put more tape over it? Both for design and weight?
@PaulScript4 жыл бұрын
I personally have only done double layers of tape on my sabre for weight, and because the cross design pattern I do requires two layers as well. On rifles, you could put more tape to increase the weight, you could also extend where the tape is (rather than sections, tape to cover more of the rifle). You definitely could do two layers, do what feels right for you because there is no exact method to taping :)

@PaulScript7 жыл бұрын
What I like to do is put the screws in the bolt all the way in(so the bottom of the screw is sticking out) then I line the bottom of the screws with the holes on the rifle without the bolt in my way, then once theyre lined up and in, I screw them a little bit, then push the bolt down onto the rifle before screwing them in all the way

whats the best stapping tape that you have come across?
@PaulScript4 жыл бұрын
When I was at Crown, they had this thin version of the tape, it was easier to use, it wasn't the wide version I would have to cut. I do not remember the exact brand, but using a more narrow strapping tape is more ideal for me.

@@PaulScript Is the strapping tape different from the Electrical tape? Will the Electrical tape function the same as strapping tape?
@PaulScript2 жыл бұрын
@@monzplumsss8450 They are different! Strapping tape is sturdy, by use of the strings embedded in the tape. It is used as the base layer for taping your rifle to prevent it from cracking and splitting. Electrical tape is flexible, and provides grip as the outer layer of tape. Because its flexible, it will not hold the rifle together if cracks become to big.

usually if ur under 5'6" spin 36" if ur 5'6"-5'11" usually use 37.5 and anything over 6ft spin 39, but a lot of teams use all 37.5 because it all matches and is a decent middle ground
