May I ask one day could you do a video on the 58 webbing contents and how it is carried?

Purely mental, my surname's also Wilson and I was going to ask this because I just bought a full set of 58 only knowing I need to pack rolls!

Look on Rifleman Moore's channel; he's done lots of really interesting videos on 58 pattern. Though no videos on contents of 58 pattern.

Huh, didn't know Commonwealth troops wore tucked in bush jackets, always thought they wore some form of 2 pocket aertex shirt. Will use this video as reference for my Malayan Emergency impression

Fantastic video Simon! I was really hoping you could do a video on Malaya, so this was perfect! Great! Would the 1944 pattern pack be worn as well? I would have thought so. Also, do you know if full '37 pattern be worn? Thanks very much again! Love the channel, subscribed in March 2020...I'll never un-subscribe!

Yes, the 1944 Pattern haversack would be used too, the kit shown in the video is just one example of myriad different setups used at the time. 1937 Pattern was used in the late '40s, being progressively replaced with 1944 Pattern. Many thanks for the kind words about the channel I hope you continue to enjoy the content!

Back in the day having any rotting webbing repaired with Parachute rigging on patrol was a field modification

How do the L straps (44 or 37) attach to the 1908 pack? I can't seem to figure it out, my 08 pack has canvas loops on the bottom rather than any buckle (such as on the 37 haversack)

Never say never but I haven't seen it done in the field, yes in base areas, not up the jungle.
