Huh, didn't know Commonwealth troops wore tucked in bush jackets, always thought they wore some form of 2 pocket aertex shirt. Will use this video as reference for my Malayan Emergency impression

Yes, the 1944 Pattern haversack would be used too, the kit shown in the video is just one example of myriad different setups used at the time. 1937 Pattern was used in the late '40s, being progressively replaced with 1944 Pattern. How do the L straps (44 or 37) attach to the 1908 pack? I can't seem to figure it out, my 08 pack has canvas loops on the bottom rather than any buckle (such as on the 37 haversack)

Never say never but I haven't seen it done in the field, yes in base areas, not up the jungle.
