In-game-wise, I wonder how Cadence is handling these new worlds, considering that she and her family live in a medieval-like one. First she was in Hyrule, now she’s in a modern-day city with new customs and cultures, not to mention a rock-and-roll guitar compared to her trusty shovel. 🎸

I realized something. The people that were zombified were not dormant but aware of what had happened. Once they were freed, they weren't confused but happy that their nightmare was over. Which I suppose makes sense since all the bosses were fully aware of what was happening, and even had enough agency to apologize for what The Necrodancer was forcing them to do while still under his control.

It took me way too long to figure out that The Matron was the Mommy miniboss from Crypt. (Harmonie being banshee was a little more clear.) In hindsight the name should have given it away, but I also forgot that that miniboss existed, honestly.

I didn't figure it out at first as well. She has the loosest connection, lacking any of the ancient egyptian aesthetics that The Mommy possesses. I got thrown off by Harmonie's original magical girl aesthetics and didn't connect her to the Banshee until it was pointed out to me.

The only real aesthetic similarities are her silhouette, and that moment where her mask breaks in half and you see her real face

This is part of the "necrodancer" series ( best I got lol ) The first game is "Crypt of the Necrodancer" The 2nd game is "Cadence of Hyrule" Don't think the story has anything to do with each other :/ Edit: fixed some naming errors

the dolls are actually just cosmetic and not really a mechanic. You can let Matron wind it up all you want, and she will never absorb any of the dolls until she takes enough damage. its very strange imo

I'm hoping they'll add a harder difficulty for the bossfights. They felt quite short even in hard mode. And maybe they'll all have gimmicks, like Matron having a hard time limit

Im not familiar with this game but is it just me or is the gameplay almost nonexistent? It looks like pressing the same buttons and sequence over and over again but maybe im missing something? I just watched the first two tho as of now

The gameplay is definitely there! The key is to hit the right inputs-left, right, up, down-while staying in sync with the awesome music. Boss fights mix things up even more, making the gameplay feel totally different from regular stages. They’re often more challenging and engaging, with attack patterns that change depending on the boss phase. This is especially noticeable in the final boss fight!

I think that’s a bit off! The game is definitely different from Crypt of the NecroDancer, but I had a great time with it. Plus, the Steam reviews are really solid right now!
