I've actually had 2 at the same time. From my understanding Prescription Electronics Inc. ( Jack Brossart ) is no longer producing pedals

Jake used to come to my music store in Hunting Beach California in the mid 90's and buy tons of pedals. He would audition them at very low volume in our sound room. He would return a few weeks later and trade a bunch back in and get more. I think the Experience pedal on his board may have come from my store? We sold a lot of Prescription Electronics. Anyway he was a great guy to do business with and I still have one of his solo CD's he handed to me around 1995. Fantastic player and always a great tone!

Jake NEVER got the credit he deserved for basically saving Ozzy's career. If Ozzy had of chosen a sub-par guitarist after Randy that would have been the end of it imho. Jake came in and wrote an incredible follow-up album and kept the train a rolling. He had a completely unique sound in an era where it was almost impossible to sound unique. Sharon fucked him big time and my heart will always go out to Jake for his place in metal guitar history.

@Logan Wilder I agree it definitely works both ways. But think about what you just said. If Jake didnt land the gig he ends up a nobody. If Ozzy doesnt land a great guitarist, what happens to him? Who had more to lose? Jake had NOTHING to lose, Ozzy had EVERYTHING to lose if it didnt work out. Ozzy benefitted way more than Jake in this scenario. Dont get me wrong it was the gig of a lifetime for Jake. But Ozzy is still going TODAY so who benefitted more from the relationship?

Jake saved Ozzy's career in the 80s, and gave him his first platinum's record with The Ultimate Sin. Ozzy was obviously a big name and already established, first with Black Sabbath, then with the "Blizzard Of Ozz" band that became Ozzy Osbourne solo act, thanks to great musicians like Bob Daisley, Randy Rhoads and Lee Kerslake. But it's with Jake E Lee that Ozzy reached immortal status as a metal/rock's god, that time in the early 80s, after Rhoads unfortunate death, when metal and shredding exploded, was a live or die situation for Ozzy, Jake came in and saved his career, just writing the Bark At The Moon single alone.

I think ozzy and Sharon made the right choice tho in the end. Although in a very shitty way

I met him at the Iridium in NY. What a champ. Such a nice person and he loved and signed my guitar. I offered to build him a guitar and he accepted. Cant wait to deliver it to him. Everyone in the band is great. Darren (the lead singer) is too funny. I bumped into him in Manhatten. The drummer Phil is a comedian...

Jake is one of my all-time favorites! His work on BATM got me interested in guitar and his Badlands material was stellar, just crazy hard rockin blues guitar! He also had a bigger then life stage presence while staying very humble.

I "met" Jake many years ago standing in line for the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland in California. It was a very busy day and the line took quite a while. For my friends and I it flew by because we were MASSIVE fans of his. We were besides ourselves with glee. We were respectful but just couldn't stop staring. He was with his wife and daughter and he was kind of "reserved." No problem. He looked exactly like his pictures. After a while we simply had no choice but to ENGAGE lol!! Just a little hero worship that could no longer be contained! :) He didn't say much, but his daughter was a sweetie and she kept saying something about "I drew the picture." We didn't know exactly what she meant, but she was wearing a cute kind of wizard hat as I remember. Fast forward a little and we saw EXACTLY what she meant when we saw the inner design on the Badlands cd. A super charming little drawing. There it WAS!! I have met a ton of famous people over the years, (I used to work at Chateau Marmont) but THE coolest experience was getting to be around this man for a period time. I can't say enough about his profoundly underrated status in the echelon of players. Listen to his work on anything and you will realize that he just doesn't sound like ANYONE else. So frickin' tasteful and nuanced, even when he is blazing away. And the TONE!!! Best to Jake and all the fans of the era. Great interview by the way and THANK YOU for it. :)

I knew Jake E. way back in his Teaser days at the Straight-ahead Sound rock 'n' roll dance club in San Diego. I used to call him Jake Van Halen, on the occasions that I would run into him, since he covered Van Halen's licks so perfectly. I think that he used to cover Sails of Charon, by the Scorpions, at those shows as well. Great times! Wish I could transport back there. Good to see you still doin' it well Jake. Rock on! Side note: Craig Goldy & Warren DiMartini were hanging around that area as well. Playing in their respective cover-bands. I knew them all. Just couldn't put down the coke and drink long enough to get anything started for myself.

In 1992 my band practiced at Mates in Burbank / N. Hollywood. Badlands was rehearsing there as well. THE LOUDEST guitarist I've ever experience up close. In a tiny room too. The kinda volume pressure where fight or flight starts kicking' in teeth rattling insane shit. Loved it.

Jake has been my favorite guitarist for forever. The thumb technique, which is not easy by the way, really put a staple in setting him apart from other guitarist. And the idea of bends with no whammy bar,,,incredible. A true inspiration to the phrase, " dare to be different. " Awesome !!
