Rigging a 'Marine Nationale' elastic strap for fixed bars

Most MN elastic straps on the market are designed for use with spring bars. Here is a quick and easy way to adapt these straps for use with fixed bars, like CWC divers and chronographs.
Better off doing this with a cheap one and not a really expensive one. And do take care, the video involves knives and blowtorches so , safety first!

did the same but pass it under so you dont see it and put both buckle closer to each other so i can wear them under the wrist in a way they kinda look more uniform

I wonder if such a strap has enough length to use it as a zero pass strap, looping it around the fixed lugs, the watch itself in direct contact with your skin.

Yes you can do it and it works but if it opens you loose the watch, in the original way you don't.

Except if your watch has fixed bars, most MN straps will not fit in 'the original way' - the purpose of the video is to demonstrate a way to rig straps to use with fixed bars, when the straps are designed for use with spring bars. It's not the only way to do it (people have suggested other methods in the comments here), and I'm not suggesting you should adapt a MN strap if you don't need to.
