It's so interesting when you explain things like the "foundational ridge of compression wood" on that limb you were cutting. Engineering in man's architecture or Mother Nature's architecture is always amazing. Thanks for another entertaining and educational video.

Using the phaser to remove those limbs was pretty cool. Dropping a stem at a time was probably a fair time saver for you up the tree. The tradeoff was being bashed a little as it went past. Very nice.

I started watching this video thinking, "this looks familiar.....", then I remembered you did the livestream and I was able to watch it..... I'm a little slow, or maybe just over tired. 😴 Always enjoy being able to rig out whole stems. At first it seems like a lot more work and 15 minutes later the whole tree is down, limbed and cut into sections. 😁 You guys throwing the scrench at the stem was hilarious, you guys always seem to make the work "fun". 👊 Hey August, that KLR is a great bike, it should serve you well. Thanks for sharing and keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🌲🏍 Randy

Tip tie is what we call it lol same exact process except sometimes if it's a medium sized smaller pine or etc if you know what I mean by that with my size reference lol we will tip tie it but use 2 blocks and I put the portawrap on the machines bucket and put another pulley at the base of the tree we're using to rig it with and lock the portawrap off and get it tight as possible versus 2 guys tight sweating the porta. Damn tree literally will bounce off the stump after cutting it lol. We only use the machine cause we saving for a GRCS . We use a nice Bull Rope and big CMI blocks. Ultra dead eye slings. Etc. Appreciate the video August. Love the content. You would be proud how far I've came climbing since the first day I watched your videos forever ago. Once again thank you for all you do August and crew! The multiple camera angles, narration, audio interjection, editing, etc. One question, is the trunk of a redwood just as brittle as the branch wood and does it change how high you go before you take a top? I noticed that Adam let the top run a fair bit and I assumed that was to reduce the side loading of the stem. Finally, it's fun to see you guys having fun with the work you do. Keep joking around and keeping it real.
