I cannot believe he is gone. It's so unrealistic. This song reminds me of everything I actually feel for River Phoenix. Even though he is dead, he is not completely. And one day, I know I'll look in his eyes again, and get the emotions I do when I watch this video.

I was 7 years old when River's life ended. It wasn't until a few months ago that I saw Stand By Me again for the first time in 10 odd years. I have thought this over and over in mind and I come to this conclusion...... River was like no actor I have ever seen, or ever will see. He never portrayed a role, he lived them. His soul, pure and innocent, shone through his eyes. We will never know the man he would have become, but we know the young man he was, and our lives are better because he lived.

Beautifully said. I was 8 when he died. I watched Stand By Me as a teen and LOVED IT!!! Recently I had stumbled on some photos of him from his movie 'My Own Private Idaho' and his sexiness made me want to watch that movie. Glad I did.

I was only a few months younger than River when he passed away so had gone through my formative teenage years and early 20s watching his films and fell completely in love with him especially in MOPI which I first saw in 1992. I Was already going through a really tough time when River died as my Mum was terminally ill, she finally passed away in 1994 so it was double heartbreak for me and I've never really got over the loss of either of them :-(

I love this so much. I never get tired of looking at, River. The most amazing actor, musician, and friend to anyone that knew him. Most celebrities are nothing like he was. So caring, so smart. Wanted to change the world for the better. It is such a tragedy that all the stress of his life and having to support so many people finally did it in for him. I will miss him always. Actually it is mostly Flea from RHCP that did it in for him that night!😭

Who ever says that he make a choice, yes, he did......but you need to ask yourself why did he make THAT choice.... if you do a little research you'll find that his family was in a cult called 'Children of God' and that he was raped as a little boy....:( (I think, but I hope that is not the truth) I miss him....even though that I didn't met him, or even born when he was alive...soooo sad....such a loss....he wad soooooo(...) talented and to me perfect by every look...he wad friendly, smart...
