Not sure how I have only just noticed this, but the verses are SO much like Papercut by Linkin Park. I mean, I have noticed tonnes of Linkin Park vibes in this whole record, especially in Teardrops, but I didn't notice this track was so close too. Oli has taken so many Chester vibes and he is really keeping Chester alive with what he is doing. At first, when BMTH started to develop their sound from being so heavy, it felt like he maybe couldn't do that style justice, but he has grown into it and his voice is actually fantastic now when he sings. God BMTH have taken that formula and made it so fresh and new. Best band around at the moment hands down.

This and Teardrops feel like super emotional tracks. A lot of the songs are political or environmental, but I prefer to see 1x1 and Teardrops about mental health. They're dark, but I feel 'em. BMTH really talk about so many facets of human existence on a 9 track EP. Phenomenal artists and phenomenal track. For anyone going through similar shit right now, keep your chin up. I promise it can get better. I know that sounds cliched, but it truly can. We're all truckin' on in this shithole together.

One thing I thought of after listening to this song is that 1x1 could also be a reference to his head being a prison. People often refer to jail cells by their dimensions and 1x1 (1' by 1') could be a reference to his mind being a prison that he can't escape. Idk if that's what he intended and I'm just slow but I just thought it kind of made sense given the context of the song.
