I think some people dont understand a valid point of this video, this video is a teaching experience, to help create a baseline to build upon in your own unique driving experiences. Yes we all can buy taco, but that doesnt mean that everyone knows how to cook or prepare it properly. But what shes doing is showing you the ingredients and styles you can use to at least begin gaining the experience of what a taco could taste and cook like, so when your in the kitchen you dont go burning the food, putting others in harms way making pancakes saying that its a taco. Your driving experience will be your own unique experience, but with her guidance, if you didnt know anything, or wanted to learn more shes offering to help. Why try and condemn that kind of help? Thanks for the video, props to you, i, myself learned alot and im sure others will too.

Exactly! Jacqueline isn't only explaining the rules but also showing her unique experience and guidance so that new drivers can build intuition and ultimately learn how to drive safely. Same, Jacqueline (and other driving channels) have been super helpful. Not only have their answered my questions, but they also have instilled in me that one can drive safely and comfortably without fear and anxiety, which is one the reasons that kept away from it since I tend to overanalyze things. People complaining about it is further proof you cannot make everyone happy in this world.

this is the worst 4way stop video on youtube. it should be deleted. its not saying anything more than what the signs are saying. and we all know that you have to read the back of stop signs. to make a proper video you need to collect 100 examples and post the best 10. this is like strolling in the park, whilst trying to teach someone how to drive.

I never really understood when 3 or 4 cars get to a four-way stop at the same time-from your perspective in your car. If there are three people, the car on the farthest right goes first, then the next car on your right and then you can go. Your explanations were better/clearer than most of the other videos. I watched on this. A big thank you! I realize this will happen very rarely, but when it does, you need to be prepared.

Being from Europe I've never ever seen a 4 way stop intersection. We only have a two way stop and at uncontrolled intersections we always give way to the right. It's my firm belief that roundabouts are way safer than 4 way stop intersections since they significantly reduce fatal T bone collisions. That's because the shape of the roundabout itself forces drivers to slow down, whereas it's way easier for an inconsiderate driver to blaze full speed through a stop sign and cause a potentially deadly car crash. Is there a specific reason why the US doesn't replace all 4 way stop intersections with roundabouts? Just curious
@Zutobi_US
@Zutobi_US Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your Question!🙂 There are several reasons why the US doesn't replace all 4-way stop intersections with roundabouts. One reason is the cost of construction and the need for additional space. Additionally, some drivers may not be familiar with roundabouts and may find them confusing or difficult to navigate. Finally, there may be local regulations or laws that prevent the widespread use of roundabouts.👀
@christinamayers3234

@@Zutobi_US I see. It all comes down to cost after all. It would be way too expensive for each state to replace them. What happens at a 4 way stop if you miss your turn for one reason or don't remember the order?
@Zutobi_US
@Zutobi_US Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! If you miss your turn or forget the order at a 4-way stop, it's important to prioritize safety and yield to the other drivers. To avoid these kinds of situations, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with driving rules before hitting the road! Understanding the basics of how to navigate intersections and follow traffic laws can go a long way in keeping yourself and others safe. Thanks for watching this video and remember, you need to know driving rules before you drive! 💯🙂✌

The problem many here in the USA have with roundabouts is that so many drivers go through them as if they are a little race course. I have had my wife complain I was going too fast in a roundabout while another driver was passing me.

Hi! Thanks for your videos! I’m preparing for my USA vacation. You explained at the beginning, that on green light or if there is no stop sign, one has the right of way. What shall I do in an unregulated intersection? With no sign on every end, everybody can assume they have the right of way, which would be disastrous.
@Zutobi_US
@Zutobi_US Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! We're glad you're finding our lessons helpful! 🙂 When it comes to unregulated intersections, the rules of right-of-way can be a bit more complicated. In these situations, it's important to use caution and be aware of other drivers around you 🚙 Typically, the driver who arrives at the intersection first has the right-of-way. However, if two or more vehicles arrive at the same time, the driver on the right has the right-of-way. 👀 It's also important to pay attention to any signs or signals in the area, such as yield signs or flashing lights. And always remember to drive defensively and be prepared to yield if necessary. Have a safe and enjoyable vacation in the USA! 🙂✌

On 3:22 you said that if you see a pedestrian waiting to cross near a small street you would stop to let him/her cross. This is wrong, at least, in NJ. Pedestrians must obey the traffic laws and should yield to vehicles when trying to cross outside of crosswalks.

The only video I found so far with demonstration of a vehicle turning right (7:55) while you are at a stop sign yeilding to oncoming (main road) traffic. My question is should u still wait for the vehicle to be more than half way on the turn or for road to be fully clear before turning? I've seen so man people merge and still have their blinkers on but don't actually turn. Last night I did the very same thing and creeped out to turn when I noticed a car slowing down on a 35mph road to turn but the person changed their mind and continued straight on the main road. There was almost a collision but we both managed to stop and it seemed I got the blame according to that persons gesture.

@hamishahern2055
@hamishahern2055 Жыл бұрын
no its not a 4-way. you can see a single stop sign on the right. (and i think there is a missing stop sign on the left due to the roadworks) in USA you sometimes have to look at the other sides of the intersectin to see if the stop sign is there to work out what type of intersection you are in. weird I know. these days they add the little "4-WAY" sign under the stop sign so you don't have to look around the intersection anymore at the other signs.

question as I’m still baffled, so I was at an intersection trying to turn left with a stop sign. The street that intersects doesn’t have a stop sign and there was a white truck approaching. Obviously I sat there and waited but the white truck stopped too. So I waited some more and there was another car that was stopped next to him. Looked like they were having a chat. So I gave it one more look and decided to turn since the white truck was at a stop. Failed my driving test bc of that. Had to bite my tongue since arguing with anyone at the dmv is pointless. But can someone explain what’s the “correct” thing to do? Just wait with my member in my hand until they finish their conversation?
@thewhat2
@thewhat2 4 ай бұрын
Usually for stop signs you have to wait until everything is cleared (cars, pedestrians, and other hazards). However, with your case, I also found it dumb that the other drivers are distracted. I would've probably honked or even turned on my flashers to tell the driver to go.

@viridianite

This is a great question and as a learner, it's something I asked myself until I started my driving instructions. Answer: Practice, practice, practice. My instructor says that if you're relaxed, you'll always be aware of your surrounding. If you're driving like a robot with arms and neck tense, and always looking straight, that's when you miss the signs and whatnots. Through practice, you're building muscle memory and as you progress, you won't need to consciously think about it that much. If you know how to drive a bicycle, I'd assume you don't think about keeping yourself from falling, right? It's the same principle.

At minute 9, you are at a 2-way stop sign. Who has the right of way when both cars stop at the intersection? The first car wanted to turn left and arrived first but had to wait for traffic. The second car is going straight and is waiting too. After a minute, the traffic is clear. Who has the right of way; the car that was there first monetarily or the car going straight?
@rogerwilcojr
@rogerwilcojr 11 ай бұрын
I noticed that she avoided the KZbin conspiracy that 2-way stops are treated differently than 4-way stops. They are not. Treat them the same. First to stop is first to go. This is my experience with 45 years of driving and running into this situation every day. I have never had anyone arrive at the intersection after me and then try to go before I turned left in front of them, but I have seen that happen on dash cam videos. But if somebody does enter the intersection out of turn, you still need to yield to them.

I liked several things in your video. There are some that I disagree with. One I think may have been wrong. First of all I spoke to a Police officer about right of way rules. The law does not state who "HAS" the right of way. It states who is supposed to "YIELD" the right of way to whom. You did not discuss the pedestrian right of way rules. The misconception is that the pedestrian has the right of way. You are to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk at an uncontrolled intersection. If the intersection is controlled by a signal light then the light dictates who should yield. A pedestrian crossing in the middle of a block ( frequently called "Jay walking which can be a ticket able offense") does not have the right of way. The Officer also stated that if you hit someone in the street even though they were not entitled to the right of way and it went to court you would most likely loose. Where you showed three cars at an intersection with four stop signs arriving simultaneously the car to far right should go first then the car on it's left then the last car. There is no law stating that only one vehicle can be in the intersection at a time. The two cars facing each other can go together. The same is true when two cars are facing each other are making right turns. I noticed that one street you pulled onto had all the parked vehicles facing you. It looks like you turned the wrong way onto a one way street or all the cars on the right were parked illegally. I liked the point where you noticed the truck turning in front of you. You used common sense and "YIELDED" the right even though you legally didn't have to. There is a lot to be said for rules of the road and defensive driving but our road systems were not designed with them in mind. If everyone followed the defensive driving rule such as at an intersection with a light you should stop so you can see roadway behind the tires of the vehicle ahead of you. If everyone did that you couldn't move enough traffic and would shortly have traffic backed up for blocks. It would be nice and safe but unrealistic.
