This is the best in depth lesson I've ever been given. I've had three guitar teachers and none of them went into depth like this about the position of the hand. This fixed my sloppy playing. I can't thank you enough.

Hi Jason, Even though I've been playing guitar for years your videos are super helpful. Why is it that we don't rest the picking hand on the strings when flat picking on an acoustic but we do when playing electric guitar? Thanks

Thanks for watching. For special effects like palm muting playing on the bridge is useful for both guitars. For general development keeping the hand near the sound hole provides the best overall tone. The majority of content is best suited for playing over the sound hole.

How long does it take to confidently and competently play riffs & scales with a pick using this exercise?
@LevelsForGuitar4 жыл бұрын
Hi. This exercise is a good step towards the goal you mention. There are other techniques needed to play riffs and scales. I encourage you to check out the following videos in this play list. Most users are making it though the beginner levels on the website in less than a year.
