The Bible teaches that it’s not only important to worship the right God, but it’s also important to worship the right God the right way. In Ecclesiastes 5, Solomon says that there’s a right way and a wrong way to worship God. Worship is not just about “singing” (though that’s part of it). Worship is living a God-ward life of reverence and devotion to Him, and Solomon explains that there’s a right “protocol” for coming into the House of God. Pastor Gary shares a practical study about how we should prepare ourselves for meeting God when we come to church.

My Grandpa taught me being late is a blatant sign of disrespect!!! You are telling the person you are meeting your time is more valuable than theirs!! Also, when it’s habitual the late party is confirming he/she could care less about YOUR time and YOUR schedule!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Pastor Gary for explaining this chapter, how we should approach the church of God. I want to tell you what i have observed in church before the service starts; some people are loud talking like they are out in the streets, there are others who are on their knees praying; i find this very disturbing. You speak about high church and low church, and how we dress coming to church. i believe that we should come dress professionally specially when you are preaching ( you are always dress very well); but what about those who come to church with tank top, spaghetti strap dress and serve or take communion! I came from a church where we use to put on veil to enter the house of God. Thank you

If you are going to be on time to meet somebody important at a restaurant not only are you going to be on time but you're going to dress appropriately you're going to want to look your best and I think we should do the same thing for God even if it's jeans it should be our best jeans we need to dress to meet God the way we would if we went to the White House to meet the president because the sanctuary is a holy Place set aside and designated where we go to meet God and worship him and I don't think that's being hypocritical that's just an opinion and that doesn't mean I'm negative against anyone who feels differently but it just seems to me if you're going to give your best and be on time for other people you need to do the same thing for God

Possibly the reason some people come late to Cornerstone Chapel services is (in my opinion) the incongruence of the so-called "worship band" with the excellent teaching and preaching. Such "performance" invites lethargy on the part of the "audience." The dumbed-down, repetitive lyrics does little to lift one's thoughts toward God. Therefore, some people avoid that part of the service. I would be one of them even though, otherwise, I love Cornerstone.

I don't know how to worship other than to bow in awe of His revealed word. I cry in adoration when it's revealed in song. If I obtained from church nothing but excellent teaching that caused me to worship Him, I would do without everything else. Maybe I'm too self centered.
