He talks about it on the channel "Roots of Orthodoxy." The videi is titled : what men need to know about lust and shame. He even says he's writing a book on that subject and other subjects, that should be published later this year :)

Man it's crazy seeing this video. I've been thinking a lot about how many of the church fathers say not to judge, but progressive "christians" also say this and I felt there is a distinction to be made

We may see the Beginning of a thing, or we may see its End, but the Gap between these two things, is something Known Only by God. Therefore no Mortal can Judge Correctly, without Falling from God's Favour.

Righteous judgment is very simple. You either judge others to the law of sin and death, Or the law of liberty. You either still sin, Or You are freed from it. Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Father do you have any good advice for someone who is still a teenager living at home with their parents who are devote non-denominationals and wants to convert to Orthodoxy? There are a lot of Orthodox churches near me so my family knows some of their beliefs and deeply disagree with them. For the past two months I have been inquiring about Orthodoxy and want to attend once I get my driver's license. But I do not know the best way to tell them about difficult topics for them like the intercession of the saints, iconography, mary, and such. I have barely any theology about these things in order to defend them. I also don't want to be argumenitive and search out arguments out passion because that's not good. I have mainly just been gathering points about how the Orthodox Church is the one holy catholic and apostolic church and the Orthodox view of salvation and the beauty of the spiritual life. These are the main things I would talk to them about. I haven't fully put together the other pieces yet as that would take a long time. My family as a whole will be very dismayed upon me letting the cat out of the bag. What are some practical tips in order to deal with family members and their arguments, disappointment, and possibly rebuke or rejection? I have hope in Christ and his church and ultimately I can't deny the truth of Orthodoxy at least in any rational way, but what are some tips in dealing with opposition from family (possibly daily or weekly)?

Father, is the following statement true ? : "I don't love God, because if I loved God I would stop sinning". I confessed this to my confessor last week and he scolded me, saying that I do love God. He told me not to say this again in my confession. Please help, i'm confused. Should I continue to confess this or not ?
@MyCorrectOpinion2 ай бұрын
I've had that logic before.

Of course, listen to your spiritual father above all else. But I do have a thought. Jesus used a lot of hyperbole and so do his disciples. Jesus said that if your right hand causes you to sin, you should cut it off. How many unvoluntary lefties do you see walking around the church? I also think sayings like that serve a purpose (especially in the monastic world) which, when used properly, can help the believer to put things into perspective. But the fact that you struggle, fall down, and pick up your cross again and again shows your love for God. That's how I see it after struggling with similar questions. But again, speak with your spiritual father or priest. May our Lord, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us all 😊
@billcynic18152 ай бұрын
I hear similar sayings from monastics, but listen to your spiritual father. You are not a monastic in a monastery. Outside of confession, tell him your concern, where you got this notion, and asl him what you should confess instead.

What are you talking about? This is how an Orthodox priest blesses people with his fingers forming IC XC (Jesus Christ).
