Great video Gideon interesting story, I was listerning to a podcast by two proffesional photographers, one of which lived in, but was moving back to the UK for this reason and one other. The other being he had asked to work as a photographer on move set and a union rep approched him and asked what he was doing, he had been moving his own equipment around, and to cut a long sort the made him use some guy for medial tasks from the union and he had to pay that individual. Most of this BS is coming from America, as they have done in Denmark the professional photographers should do like wise.

Fascinating and indicative of how photographers are treated in all endeavours. It seems to me that the photographers worldwide need to take the "Norwegian Action". If images stopped appearing in the media, bands and their management would quickly realise that they need photographers just as much as the photographers need them. Musicians can be quite protective of their own rights as I found out when I was posting videos of cover bands playing live - I have had videos blocked on a number of occasions and have vowed never to buy the music of certain notorious blockers like The Eagles and Led Zeppelin. It is ironic that one of the most "protective" artists, Robert Fripp, has a youtube channel with his missus, Toyah, dedicated to covering other people's work. I wonder if THEY have ever been blocked. Keep on keeping on. Keith

Beware also of rights grabs in photo competitions; make sure you read all the terms and conditions.
