People are not going to like what I'm about to say but I notice something with these celebrity fashion brands. We are the only community who does this by the way but the celebrity fashion brands only last as long as the star's stardom. We've seen so many fashion brands come and go. Talented designers who couldn't get us to buy from them unless they used celebrities only to no longer be relevant ex Karl Kani. I say all this to say Rihanna's fashion lines were pricy but weren't taken serious because she's a celebrity. Once her stardom is no longer savage fenty is next to go. As a community we really need to unpack why we put so much stock in celebrity and not push real designers who studied to be in the fashion and beauty spaces. The powers that be want the Rihanna's, Beyonce's and Kanye's in the space because they are not true competition. We don't have any long lasting Blacks in this space because we don't support them and that's disheartening. I hope things change because we have the talent and money to compete. Stylists put in a lot of work and have studied fashion for years to make your favs look iconic. The average person thinks that the celeb put the look together & that it’s their “personal style.” Not really! Price had nothing to do with Fenty pausing, her price points were for a luxury house it wasn’t fast fashion, she was given the opportunity to create a brand from scratch under LVMH, that’s major! For a black female it has never been done with LVMH- if y’all listened to Rihanna in interviews and what LVMH said Fenty sourced Fabrics from all over - it’s what kept the designs going, when Covid hit she had to pause all traveling and halt in-store events, etc. it only made sense to pause it, like she said. I don’t like the “rise and fall” title as if it won’t ever come back, if y’all paid attention Fenty’s perfume isn’t designed by Fenty Beauty, it’s original release was meant for her clothing line as a new product, hence she uses the Fenty logo/blue box for the perfumes packaging. Her clothing brand will emerge again. Any brand she had before hand (Puma, river island) were deals with end dates, Fenty was her baby, it’ll come back! Very interesting video. I honestly didn’t even realize until watching this that her clothing line no longer existed but it makes sense because I had not seen anything recent about it. As a side note I’d love to hear you do a breakdown of Rihanna’s personal style evolution. I just know you’d do it so much justice! It’d be interesting to see you break down how her style evolved from each album and the different life experiences (highs and lows) she went through that inspired all her fashion changes. Rihanna has set so many trends in fashion from hair styles to nails and so much more!

I worked in JD during the time the puma creepers were popular! Omg I was in love with the puma collection at that time! The velvet with the ribbon instead of lace was amazing. I would save my minimum wage for it , but even with the staff discount it was still so expensive! I only managed to get a puma fenty jumper and honestly got ruined in a week with an oil stain from my makeup! 😭😭😭 they should bring the collection back 😭

I still wear fenty puma platforms to this day. People who weren’t on the wave always ask me where i got them from lol.

Let me be the first to say, I have tried their VIP membership and was sent the wrong items, and overcharged. The items took forever to come, & when I called them it was a bunch of long waits and bs about how I gotta swap this and that out.. mind you I ordered 2 of their most expensive pieces from that collection and I’m in central cali not some rural area. Still, it was just an overall bad experience! they never got my replacement items out but charged me twice! I got my money back and was done with that company. I believe she does the cheap labor and child labor abuse because the ppl they have on those customer service calls are terrible and I assure you are paid very low! Bad business practices for a “billionaire icon” . Just my opinion on savage x fenty not about all her other fashion endeavors.

Wow. Yikes. Glad I read this cos I’ve been considering the membership for a min.

yikess I'm sorry to hear that. I had the opposite experience. I was on her VIP since 2020 and always got everything delivered on time, no wrong orders, never over charged once etc. Customer service when i finally decided to cancel (cuz I'm not as crazy over the designs as much as I wanted to be) was easy and beautiful.

You sound like a hater tbh. I get your bad experience, but the attempt at being shady at the end was unnecessary. She IS a billionaire icon, no air quotes needed. Stay mad and shop elsewhere.

I believe you never bought anything from the brand and that bad experience you're talking about happened with a difference company. You sound so mad at the end cuz you just hate her for being a billionaire that's all.

The real reason Fenty Fashion House was stopped is not the reason people are speaking of in the comment section. There is a much more esoteric reason. I will leave it at that! RiRi will not continue to elevate until she is away from those Demons that control her (period)!

People keep saying price but it is a luxury brand, it’s not gonna be cheap. However the problem was not aligning the marketing strategies with her target audience. If you want to luxury market you are gonna have to start with some sort of fashion shows and common luxury brand marketing techniques so that she can reach the new audience. Only marketing via social media only works if it’s a brand thats main selling point is the celebrity being the face of the brand, and those only perform well if they are somewhat accessible in terms of pricing, bc with that social media marketing it’s only going to reach the fans. The brand wanted to have its cake and eat jt too and that’s not how it works unfortunately

I love this video! You did so much research and I literally learned so much about Rihanna! I didn’t realize she had her own show or that she was the creative director or helped designed so many different types of items. her luxury line was a great idea, it’s just that the people who would support her the most didn’t fall in that tax bracket.

I've purchased some men's items from Savage x Fenty and I absolutely love the items produced by Rihanna. Everything is of totally high quality and value. She has demonstrated above and beyond that she is on the pulse of high fashion sense and really understands what the people wan't.

I got to purchase two things from her clothing line and it was a bit pricey but I felt like it was worth it. She really took her time on her brand and loved how she packaged her items. My outfit came with its own garment bag. Very beautiful detail, I hope this isn’t the last of fenty clothing.

I’m so happy I got a pair of sunglasses when I could! I saw a lot of people buying FENTY. I like that she appealed to affordable in the past, and luxury. She deserves luxury. I swore I had heard they just paused, but perhaps bring it back? I hope!

I believe that in general celebrities start companies for cash grab. Fans will support them where ever. I really loved the Fenty Savage fashion shows because of Parris Goebel dancers. I decided to support the brand and buy some things, but then did not realize I took a subscription for 50 dollars a month. Besides that, the clothes were Ali Express quality. That left a really bad taste in my mouth. And then listening to her music singing about "money on my mind" in at least 5 of her tracks I for sure thought she did this just for the money. Which is fine, but I'm not supporting that brand anymore. Still love her as an artist and as a person though.
@salome_in_pink89572 жыл бұрын
Her fans dont have "Designer Money" like that. Also not everybody could wear the stuff. Even with all the success prior she was not established enough to bring out a high Designer Fashion Brand. If she insist to keep that lane than she should stay with Accessoires only and maybe slowly incorporate clothing. Or make the brand just more affordable.
@bluemoscato14562 жыл бұрын
These same “fans” probably have no problem paying for the same price from other luxury brands.

The biggest issue with FENTY was that it launched during Covid. She was doing ready to wear collections like every few months. They should’ve started out with just shoes and sunglasses. But I hope she relaunches it

Why did she actually think she can trademark Robin..?? I love the fact she is about Body Positivity. I've been on that site like 3 times. Was really really expensive. To be honest, it looked like it wasn't worth buying. Alot of stuff was just kinda blah. Like was done already. Idk if it's, I really didn't find anything different. I just wasn't to crazy about it. Was fresh, trendy & modern looking. I truly love fashion. I'm actually a fashion designer but I design & make all my clothes. There was an article saying her line didn't work out, due to child labor laws & warehouse conditions. I have a feeling that Fenty will make a comeback.
