what comforts me more than most other things is getting a 5 year unlimited mile warranty with my new truck. Hino offers this plus B10 & B50 engine ratings. Kenworth vs. Hino Done by someone who's job it is to sell you a Kenworth
@towtruckaj3 жыл бұрын
So i'm switching to a kenworth from a hino soon, Without having my kenworth yet I can't say much about his claims with the kenworth, but it seems from the video he leaned more toward under selling the hino than over selling the kenworth, I didn't see many claims with the kenworth where I thought "well I don't know that I believe that" but his claims with the hino are just attempts to undersell, which makes sense as he works at a kenworth dealership. So to start I have actually heard one of my drivers complain of a loose air seal on his door on one of the trucks that we no longer have, I don't quite remember but I believe that one was in an accident and the problem occurred and persisted after that accident, As for the mirror adjustments you simply have no issues opening and closing the door in terms of mirror adjustment, In fact, I've actually had to get out and go quickly with one of my drivers parked on my street with a car on the other side of the road as well, and I simply mirror tapped the other hinos mirror (slowly) and he simply had to pull the mirror back out and no further adjustment was needed even then, Never had a problem with the grill either, I have had them crack in an accident but that's, of course, unavoidable if it gets hit, I have never had something go through the grill and damage my cooling systems. Now as I said, I don't have my kenworth yet, it's being built, but If any of yall have any further questions in the following months when I do have it, I'd be more than welcome to answer questions about either truck.

@@TheWaynester101 I like my kenworth much more, I can say on mine the mirrors will not stay in place I’ve tightened them a ton including with a little impact and they won’t stay in place i have to move them every week or so back to a normal spot, the cab is a little smaller feeling but it’s not an issue for me, the grill of the kenworth is indeed much stronger, I hit a deer and the grill is fine however hino hoods and bumpers are much cheaper, my hood cracked and bumper bent and it was 9k if I bought both new rather than fixing them. As for the door seal my hino sealed fine, the kenworth has a far tighter seal to the point where if the windows are up you have to slam it hard to get it fully closed, with the window cracked it closes far easier, and it will pop your ears if you slam it with the windows up. I will also say having a fleet of various trucks the Hinos go in for service much more often, their emissions system fails a lot and we have weeded them out because international and freightliners have worked much better, and my kenworth is only at 18k miles but it too has had no emissions issues yet.
@TheWaynester1012 жыл бұрын
@@towtruckaj sounds good, thanks for the information! We have a small fleet, bought a used 24 foot international and 26 foot freightliner. The used trucks worked very well for around 10 years but the amount of problems they've been giving has increased. Lost our big clients so the trucks along with the two kenworth tractors are just sitting around the parking lot. Just got a new route that really doesn't need a 24 foot truck so we bought a brand new Isuzu 16 foot truck. If it works well, we might just get new longer isuzus to replace the old trucks once business picks up again. Its amazing that they now use Cummins! Only fear i have is the emissions system. I was sold on the Hino before I watched a few videos and read a few forums comparing them with Kenworths. One of the things that sold me the most on Kenworth is the foot pedal placement. I've driven trucks that have the pedals too high, and yeah it can really start to HURT your ankles after a few hours. Even the International has better pedal placement than a Hino. The second thing that has sold me on the Kenworth is that the motor is more serviceable. It just seems a bit ridiculous to have to travel so many miles to find a Hino service station; whereas Kenworth is better established in the US, and has far more service stations. I also like that the Kenworth has the separate gauges. I've had to pull a number of dashboards on newer cars and trucks, and I always lament on how the old vehicles from the 70s and before had individual gauges. It's nice to see a truck that holds to an old standard that worked better. The thing that surprises me the most is that cheap PLASTIC grill on the Hino. I had road debris ruin a radiator on a car once, and there's no good reason for it if it can be prevented. After taking a few months to really research a lot of different truck brands, I'm now sold on Kenworth. Sorry Hino. They should watch videos this, and read what seasoned drivers are saying in the forums, and make the necessary changes. From what I can see, Hino's entire sales pitch is based on "This truck is made by Toyota, and people know Toyotas are reliable. . . buy a Hino." But it takes more than just a good record of reliability to make a good work truck - it has to be practical for the task, and have all the flaws worked out. -

I’d much rather have an American tried and true truck than a Japanese piece of shit. Fixing the Kenworth is dumb easy compared to a hino. Cummins is a hell of a lot more reliable and powerful than the hino engine. That is a fact. The engine in this hino is a 8 liter that puts out 230hp and 520 ft lbs of torque. The pax car px-7 (Cummins ISB) puts out 300hp and 800ft lbs of torque. Clearly a more powerful engine, not to mention more reliable. I have seen plenty of those with over 500,000 miles and hinos with far less coming in to be serviced. The Kenworth has so much more room to work with. It’s easy to do an oil filter on one, just take it off and put it on. But with a hino you have a carelessly placed gender guard which is just another thing to take off and put back on. Just sharing some opinions and facts. Don’t get butthurt.

Hino = Toyota! What more is there to add?
@Dan-nj7tr5 жыл бұрын
And this is the problem, they think Hino is owned by Toyota and that it's Japanese then it's got to be good, you could take a turd and brand it "Japanese" and people would still buy it.

I've been working on hino trucks for years ,super reliable and super durable very few issues with them
@Mr.Pickles5193 жыл бұрын
I've never had issues with the 3 toyota trucks and 1 sedan I've owned. That being said, when it comes to work, to heavy trucks, I'm going kenworth or Pete's every time.

Fair review by a KW rep😁. I've had both and there is no way you can compare..Hino is a beast at medium sized trucks.
@Zherka-t9b3 жыл бұрын
Notice how the closed the hood of the Hino and it was soft closing cause it came with gas shocks VS when he closed the hood of the KW...plop! 😂🤣🤣

I been in the truck industry about 3 years now, I started driving a Hino and yes they have big cabins lots of space and they do run good no questions ask. I recently purchased a Kenworth T270 and I noticed the difference between these two. I'm going to say I prefer the kenworth more comfortable to ride and better looking truck I couldn't be happier of my decision

Yeah it's totally more convenient to get out in 40 below to add windshield wiper fluid.

I suspect this review could be biased. The Hino is a far better value because it is bullet proof.

How is it bullet proof, the guy just showed what can go through the cheap plastic grill.

we have a 2010 hino and the damn thing is bulletproof.... we have no issues sending it anywhere. our kenworth is a good truck also don't get me wrong but the miles on her and lack of needed repairs speaks for itself.

It would be nice to know the: price, warranty, reliability, turning radius, and several other relevant things. This video was a total waste of time.

Sitting in the Kenworth is like sitting on a board if your over 5,8 say no to Kenworth and the hino is way more roomy.
@chuckiefinster5445 жыл бұрын
I've always liked kenworth but this video is just.. ugh. Kenworth makes a fine otr truck but for medium duty, hino is more cost effective and just as reliable, if not more than anything else on the market

I LOVE KENWORTH!
@corym90865 жыл бұрын
I drive a t370 and a 338, and they are both fine units. The kenworth is nicer to spend the day in just in terms of sound levels in the cab, and ease of cleaning in the cab. Any driver knows these trucks all perform these days, it’s all about how they are rigged up that makes the difference. Kenworth and Hino have no control over that.
